During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

The Way of the Warrior

His form didn’t move an inch once the Alpha’s gaze finally met his. Not even his lids slitted, not even his pinnae pinned, not even his plume swayed. He remained as frozen as a statue. The Alpha, on the other paw, shivered, no doubt from the frigid temperatures of the waters, and then he left the water, streams of liquid running from his soaked pelt. Once he reached dry land, Serris’ gaze met his once again. You shouldn’t be here, Aindreas. It was an order, and it was at that point that his lids started to slit, and his hackles raised. As he watched the Alpha walk away from him, the rage that he had hidden within himself boiled to the surface. When Serris saw that he hadn’t moved, the confusion clear upon his face was clear. As clear as the anger upon Aindreas’ face. You must be more ignorant than I thought, boy, sticking around some foolish old man’s pack like you do. It was the last straw. Aindreas leapt down from his perch and then tread down the same path that Serris had, eventually reaching the same overhang that the King had chosen. For a few brief moments, Aindreas merely stood over Serris, watching him lick his battle wounds, before vocals erupted from his maw in such a fashion that they never had done before.

You are an old fool, a bloody old fool! What was I to think, with you disappearing for months at a time, except that you had abandoned me and your pack! And then to accuse my sister – my SISTER – who shares my orbs of being a traitorous wench… you knew, or at least you would have known if you were ever around, how utterly and completely my heart belonged Genisys. Adara came here to join the pack but when she saw you were gone and had been gone for the longest while she thought she could make a place for us here. For, as you would know if you were ever around, it turns out that Kalgalath is my father, and everyone has spent their entire lives leaving and abandoning me. Including you. Including Genisys – Genisys left, if you hadn’t noticed. I told her I loved her and she left me!” As his vocals cut off, a growl rose in his chest, and he lowered his form toward the earth, his plume swaying viciously from side to side. Suddenly, his muscles released, sending his form over Serris to the other side, his claws digging him into the earth and spinning him around. His lips raised, exposing his canines. “What right do you have to call yourself Alpha! You who never is here, you who abandons those within your boundaries without regard? Is this what your idea of a leader is? For if it is I have wasted my time ever coming to your pack, ever being here – I believed you were great. You’ve proven me wrong.” His words were spat out between exposed teeth, saliva flying.

It was as if all that he felt exploded at once. He was angry, yes. He felt betrayed. He longed for the love he had felt for Genisys and for her touch. He wished for the company of his sister, his brother, his father… even his mother. The loneliness was driving him crazy. Whitest phantom turns to walk away, but it is too late. The floodgate had been broken and there was no holding it back now. Cranium turned to lay his gaze upon the one he had once called King and Lord and Master. “You need to step up, grow a pair, and pull yourself together! Breath life back into these lands, do something with this pack! Care for the ones you have accepted here… do your duty as a warrior should. Or step down! Leave forever! Serris you cannot continue on with your role of Alpha if you do not do your part! And you have been slacking with your roles for a long time.” Swallowing, he tried to slow down but the words continued to tumble forth by rote. “Stop abandoning this pack! I’ve been angry for the longest time! And it’s exhausting. Step up! Be the Lord I thought you were! Or I will leave and never return, and the one who was truly loyal to you will be gone forever!

By now his body was steaming, the rage having raised his temperature, which now lay many degrees above. His breath came out in a fog due to the difference, and his whole form shook, legs trembling. Aindreas then froze, sat his haunches upon the earth, and just froze as he had been before. All emotion left his face, and the tremors stopped. His icy gaze met Serris’ and, unblinkingly, waited. As he had been waiting for months. As he had waited every time Serris had left him. As he had waited each time everyone had left him.
