i don't miss you i miss the misery

The ties that bind us are sometimes impossible to explain

The white sand was now beginning to turn into a mellow golden hue. Along with it the tall pine and willow trees were not replaced by thin palms. Cocoanuts left over by summer littered the shoreline as Lyden led Skylar and his daughter into Palm Tree Paradise. The scenic difference between the ridge and here was intense; the temperature was the only thing that resembled that the two places were in the same island. Here the shoreline was golden with life and promise and palm trees swayed lazily in the afternoon’s warmth. Here was a place of fantasy and relaxation a place that you could get lost in just hanging out. This place so foreign yet comfortable made Lyden finally realize why his great grandfather ruled it for so long and why his grandpa and father never left.
Hearing the gentle footfalls of Skylar and his daughter beside him Lyden’s blue gaze glanced in Skylar’s direction. Since their conversation in which Lyden stupidly poured his heart out to her and with her response Lyden hadn’t spoken to the blue girl much. He figured after their daughter was old enough to survive on her own that Skylar would leave and return to wherever it was she came from. Being with Lyden was clearly not what she wanted and that was Lyden’s fault. If he hadn’t knocked her up Skylar probably would have led a far different life then what she was dealt with today.
Agitation swept instantly through him when the thought of their words came to mind which was why he decided to not deal with it. Lyden didn’t expect anything more in Skylar and was now just waiting for when she fled going to live her life that she actually wanted to live with who she wanted. He wasn’t sure if accalia would follow but just on the off chance she did, now living with another stallion it would put Lyden not completely alone and give him something to do to work through whatever emotional mishap that would surely follow their departure from their home and his life.
Pausing near a cluster of trees that creature a pretty good space of shade Lyden called to Sahin before flicking one ear backwards listening to his surroundings. ”we’ll wait here until the owner comes” looking at his daughter the pale man smiled before he made eye contact with Skylar briefly. He didn’t doubt that she was picking up on his uncomfortable tension with her, however since they didn’t know each other all that well he didn’t think she would really pay that much attention. If she did or had, Skylar probably didn't care.
