Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Orion watched as Taliesin seemed to be quite surprised that he hadn't called him crazy for his past-time. He didn't understand why anyone would, really. Perhaps it was a waste of time for some but Orion thought that as long as it wasn't something negative, it didn't bother him. There were a lot more dangerous and disruptive habits than listening to the birds. The surprised question was a bit sad, really, as if many others had found it so strange. Orion couldn't understand why. "Of course not." he said with a wave of his tail. "It is not hurting anyone and as long as it makes you happy, why should I find it strange?" The question his statement ended with was rhetorical, but an answer could be given to it too, he supposed.

He hadn't been left behind by his family, really, rather he had left them behind. His mother had urged him to go and his brother... well his brother was a different story. After he had lashed out at Orion and given him the scar beneath his eye Orion hesitated to even call him 'brother.' He had left the den much earlier than Orion had, and while he regretted leaving his mother, she retorted by saying that there was nothing left for him there. 'See the world,' the words echoed in his mind. 'And find your own happiness, Orion.' Those words and her sad, but peaceful smile, had stuck in his mind as a powerful memory for the two years he had been travelling. The poor wolf, she had tried so hard to give him and his brother a good upbringing, but his brother had ruined that before it could even begin. He cursed his sibling's name for what he had done.

But there he went, dwelling on the past again. Orion shoved it back down and focused again on Taliesin. "I'm not sure," he said thoughtfully. To be honest he wouldn't mind staying here for a little while as there seemed to be much more to explore around these lands. The offer almost took him aback though. Very rarely had someone offered to share their home with him. "That's very kind of you," the black pelted wolf said with a surprised look in his yellow eyes. "I would be honoured."
