" There's moments in your life that make you, that set the course of who you're gonna be. Sometimes they're little, subtle moments. Sometimes they're not. "

It was said that going to the king in the interest of taking some land was the best way to do it. Setting up shop was one way, but it could lead to less than wanted scrutiny and confrontation. Quinn would rather just skip that if it was possible and do it the right way. Sure, he might have a mind to do it a different way if things did not go well, but at least he was going to give it a fair shot. Go to the kingdom, the king and see if he'd allow the take over of a bit of land that Quinn had his eye on. After the storm and all, he had decided he'd like to fix the place up and make it more inhabitable. Make it into something he could work with. It had been on his mind for awhile, and it certainly wouldn't be the first time.

Quinn had opened up a martial arts studio twice before in a lives long past, and it had done fairly well in those times. He had liked running it for the most part, though it was the training he was more interested in doing. Perhaps there would be others to join in with training when he wasn't, but he wasn't going to go full scale with it at first. He liked to keep busy, but he also took up time hunting, skinning, carving and smking meat for trading and selling (and eating!), so he had to keep in mind the different things he was dealing with. Yet Quinn could sort all of that out as time passed. As more might want to learn the skills he would teach. Echidna was already learning, so why not let others?

So here he was, having journeyed to the kingdom and wondering if there really was hope for getting his niche in this world. Something had always felt off here, and he couldn't be sure if it was the lack of fire in his veins or something else. But he was going to keep trying anyway. He wasn't interested in just giving up, and for Echidna he was willing to go through as much as was needed. There was no knowing how much that was and where it would lead, but that would be okay. At least this is what he hopes. Hope was something new to feel, too. And here he was, waiting at the gates, having let guards know why he was here and who he was. Now, to wait. Patience was never his thing, but he'll try anyway.
