Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

As their songs end and the forest goes quiet once again, Gaia feels the warmth of her companion mix in with her own body heat. It is a nice feeling and one that brings comfort. Everything was going to be alight. The howls would carry through the forest and help would arrive soon. For the first time that day it seemed that the smaller girl had lost her voice. Ears up and eyes alert, she was too busy watching the woods to talk. Instinct told Gaia now was the time to listen rather than speak as the two children waited for their parents to come to their aid. With her den not too far away, hidden in a thicket, it didn't take long for Rhae to hear the summons of her first born pup.

The larger wolfess came crashing through the brush and Gaia feels her world become whole once again. Peace filled her once panicked mind as her tail whipped back and forth excitedly at the sight of her mother. Gaia let out a happy yip as she left Seir to greet Rhae. Her legs, still not totally rested, made her run with an awkward gait that went totally ignored until she met up with her mother. Gaia embraced her mother in a wolfish hug as she leaped up in an attempt to lick Rhae's chin, all the while barking happily. Whining softly as she received a gentle lick behind the ears, Gaia knew at once that everything would be okay. Mom had come to save the day.

That is when Rhae saw her daughter's newfound friend and suddenly Gaia had found her voice again. "Mama, this is my new friend! He pounced on me and it kinda hurt but that's okay because he's actually really nice. He doesn't talk which means that he doesn't have a name so I named him Speckles because he has little brown spots on his fur and I thought it would be a good name for him. We got lost in the woods and I was scared but Speckles howled and then I howled too and you heard me and now everything is going to be alright!"

The words didn't seem to end as Gaia carried on and on. She told her mother about the day she had had and the adventures she and Seir had been on, all the while bounding around like the excited puppy she was. With her tail wagging at the speed of light it was clear to anyone that she had not noticed the new stranger who moved within the shadows. Gaia danced around both Rhae and Seir as the two greeted each other timidly in the natural way of the wolf. It wasn't until the white demoness actually appeared that Gaia finally stopped and lowered her tail in fright.

Being a loner meant not having much interaction with other wolves. Never before had Gaia seen another wolf as large as Mom, though Flare was still slightly smaller, and it was intimidating. At once the russet puppy lowered herself to the ground and allowed a whine to escape her lips as she tried to use her charm to appeal to the stranger. It went ignored as Flare moved to Seir and began to check over her son. It was an odd ritual that Gaia had never seen before. No words were spoken. Just a deep growl. Gaia yelped in fright and left her friend to crawl under Rhea with her tail low. She was frightened of this new wolf. But it would be okay. Mommy was there. She was like a goddess and nothing could ever bring her down. With Mommy standing above her, Gaia was safe and secure and nothing could ever hurt her.
