Triumph gleamed in Sinclair’s violet and red eyes as he rolled Cersei off of him and nipped at her more delicate face. Take that, red princess! He choked down a giggle when Cersei flicked his ear with her paw. Weak spot? Totally. He’d been ticklish there since birth. Dodging her proved futile because of the small space. When he felt her paw brush his ear again, he gurgled as it folded down and bounced up again and sent tingles down the edges of it. Soon, he couldn’t contain it! His teeth flashed with a continuous stream of breathless laugher when she continued to bat at his ears. His eyes started tearing and his cheeks began to hurt. “Cersei! Stop it, stop it! I’ll die of laughter,” He gasped between chuckles before he finally sat up to move his head out of reach from her persistent paws.
It was then that she hushed him! Sinclair’s eyes widened in surprise at the paw as he looked cross eyed down at it a moment before focusing on Cersei’s face. For an instant, he swooned at her widened eyes, but quickly recovered at the seriousness of their situation. He glanced at the opening of the den. Was there something unnatural outside? Sin leaned away from her raise paw and turned his head to the mouth of his den. He put all his focus into searching for hints as to what had scared Cersei. He sniffed quietly, but all he could smell was his den and Cersei. He supposed that was expected; being in a den shrouded the outside world of smells usually. He held his ears forwards, straining to catch anything beyond the silence of the den. Unfortunately, he could only hear the gulls beginning to stir.
Wait. Was this a trick? Oh! Sinclair’s heart leaped and he started when Cersei’s pink tongue flashed and landed a neat lick on his nose. His eyes widened and he snapped his head back to stare at her, flabbergasted. Had that really just happened? Sin’s insides coiled with excitement at the gesture, both in joy and in tension (what would Tesseract say?!). Taken off guard, Sinclair did nothing as she quickly backed out of his paw-lock and bounded away. Hang on! That was it? He wanted another one! Wait, he did? Sinclair shook his head and leaped up to dart after the fleet footed princess.
The sound of a mastermind thinking? Sin chuckled at the joke and paused at the mouth of his den when she winked at him. Her challenge caused Sin to play bow with her. A toothy grin formed on his face and he said, “I bet I can.” Sinclair darted forwards, agile now that he was on all fours. He slid to a stop in a play bow before her, coming to a stop so that their noses were barely touching. His eyes were wide with mischievousness as they stared into Cersei’s for a moment. His fluffy tail curled over his back waved freely behind him before he yipped at her pleasantly and then leaped passed her. He bounded towards the beach a couple of steps, convinced he had just done something outrageous and that Cersei was sure to retaliate. He was strangely eager about the notion. He pause and half turned to make sure Cersei was following.
“Cersei. I’m waiting,” Sinclair called, purposefully tuning to a higher, annoying pitch on his last word to tease her. |
