Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Taviora's first pack hunt had turned out to be rather successful, but it had not gone without it's consequences. Most of the wolves in the pack had come out relatively unscathed, but one in particular had suffered a nasty wound rendered from the tusk of the Boar we had brought down.
That wolf was now our True Arrow, and was also my daughter, Zeteri. I was thankful that the stars had reunited we two, and I found myself very protective of the young woman since we'd returned home. Not that she would know it. I ghosted her whereabouts from afar, taking survey of how well her injury was healing... and often she would wake from a midday nap to find a bit of fresh kill left for her to eat.

But I could not spend all my waking hours checking in on her health. I was promoted to Warshield after all, and with great power came great responsibility. Mothers were nursing their babes in their dens, and after the recent squirmish with Tobias at the borders, it was important now more then ever to see to border patrols and take care of security details.

Taviora was in need of more able-bodied warriors. I had plans to recruit new members for the purpose, and take existing members to train in the art of combat and defense. I'd need to speak with Coza further to discuss such plans, and meet with Jago to see if the two of us could round up a few good men...or women.

Currently, I was re-establishing the border marks, hiking my leg in a fashion usually reserved for males... though it was not unheard of for females such as myself. A flood has recently washed through parts of the freelands, uprooting trees and destroying much of the landscape along Aplos river and flowing down towards Iromar. It had done little to affect Taviora but I wanted to ensure our borders were plainly marked in case any vagabonds or demons washed away in the waters might find themselves lost and think Taviora might be a target. I was a vigilant and dutiful deputy... even if my Obligations no longer belonged to Paracon.

Coszcotl had proven himself a worthy and caring leader. He was generous and kind and firm only when it was warranted. He has earned my loyalty and I was not about to let the man down.

Speak of the devil, radars perk, swiveling on their turrets as his voice rings clear across the tundra. Majestic dial lifts higher, harlequin eyes of molten gold and frigid ice casting towards the source of the call with curiosity. A brow arcs, the message ringing clear. A new member perhaps?

A move towards a small body of water, a tiny pond hidden amid the tundra scrub, and after ensuring the golden splash of color above my brow was thoroughly hidden beneath a layer of charcoal and ash, my long willowy limbs slide into an easy and deliciously graceful trot. I was a massive she-wolf, but I was all elegance and feral charisma.

An impish smirk beguiles my lips upon my arrival of the scene. I dip my helm to Coza first, and then to Solaris, for whom I recognized as the Angel to come in and whisk Holo away to safety when Tobias had attacked. My eyes meet his evenly, and the smirk draws into a slightly thinner line at the memory of such a ghastly event.

"You summoned me, Chieftan? I asked of Coza, though it was in a jovial tone of voice.

Finally, my dual-toned gems fall upon the female of the group- an unknown stranger.

"Greetings Pilgrim, I am Alias.... Coszcotl's Warshield." A greeted her, speaking Coza's name in perfect mimicry of his native language.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
