Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Oh such grace! Oh such beauty!
And lipstick, and callous
and fishnets and malice

Her fur stands on end, her crouches as if she had enough room to actually launch herself at the intruder who so carelessly entered her den. Her lips curl up over her canines exposing the pink gums, a low growl exiting her mouth. It was only until Abraxus' large form loomed in the low light that she slowly lowered herself back down. It took awhile for her to regain her composure, and as he so boldly moved her tail away she snarled and snapped at him. Her teeth clicked loudly in the air near his face. It was a warning, she was not to be trifled with in this time, in this place. Harridan would was not normally a violent individual but with hormones surging, instinctual needs to take care of her newborns she was unafraid of taking out another chunk of her dearest Abraxus' face. He noses around the twins and Harridan remains on edge, ready to snap should either one of her girls squeal in pain. And as quickly as the threat comes, Abraxus eases back, and Harridan eases back down. Her own muzzle goes over them, pink tongue cleaning them to reassure herself that their large father had not damaged them.

Confident that her children were safe, (not that a non-hormonal mind ever questioned that Abraxus would hurt his own children...but you know, hormones) she watched him carefully, her ears pricking to catch his words. It was a noble pledge and one that honestly surprised her to hear spilling from her lovers mouth. "Abraxus, I didn't think you had one." A heart? A soft side? Some sense of loyalty? It was hard to think of which she was referring or perhaps she was thinking about all those in one tangled thought. She shifted, groaning slightly as she acknowledged for the first time since he had entered the den that the birthing process was not as easy as the last time she did it. Perhaps she was getting too old for such wintertime antics though she would never admit it. When she settled down she glanced at her babies and then back up to Abraxus.

She smiled at him, it was a small smile, a tired smile, but a smile nonetheless. She sighed softly. "I suppose you would like to know their names?" She glances down at the smaller one that she had already dubbed Maud. "This is Maud." Her nose touched the sleeping child quietly. It was only then that she realized that her second, larger child was nameless. There was the briefest moment of panic before her mind generated a name that would be good enough. "And this....is uh... Scallywag." It had been decided, quickly. She glanced up at him with a sheepish grin but would always refuse that she did not forget to name her youngest. Harridan was not that bad of a mother. Or at least, she would refuse to ever think of herself as that bad. The red amber eyes watched Abraxus to see if he would call her out. To see if he was truly as hellbent on protecting them. She wondered if he was as protective of other mothers and their children. It was strange to have him here, this close but she couldn't help to feel more relaxed. As much of a monster as he was and could be, she was seeing a new side of him, a side that she couldn't quite define and was far too tired to acknowledge with any sort of clever remark. Besides, she was not entirely sure on how to articulate knowing that while nothing between them was confirmed or construed, that he would protect his newest progeny and for the sterling creature that was a relief. This time it would not be so hard to raise her pups by herself. She just prayed to whatever greater powers there might be that this time, there would not be a meteor to deal with.
