Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

My c o l d desire
to hear the boom, boom,
b o o m of your heart

Caligula gave a wolfish grin to her lover, her equal. He teased her about her bites, and she let it roll off her back. She had nothing to prove to him and she knew it. He had seen the way she had killed off Ajax, the way she had mauled Vidar. Was that not proof enough that Caligula's bite was much, much worse than her bark? She rolled her eyes as he teased her but settled in quickly enough when his head laid on top of hers. She did not mind this particular display of dominance. After all, was he not the king of Glorall? She rested quietly against him, her eyes open but staring at nothing but the sway of the pines above them and the birds as they flitted from tree to tree. She could feel his heartbeat slow, could hear his breathing slow. He was falling asleep on her, and she did not dare move. Her ears twitched just slightly as she listened to the lands that surrounded them. She let him sleep quietly. After all, wasn't it he that was up with the sun this morning, while she feigned not hearing him get up? She could at least give him this one simple pleasure. She allowed them to be melded, to be one lump of black and silver and auburn that near sparkled in the sunlight that filtered through the pines.

She felt herself on the edge of sleep herself before she decided that his nap had been long enough. Of course they could sleep the day away, but was that the way he wished to spend their alone time? They were of course entitled to it the way that each worked. But, Caligula had decided that they were going to enjoy each other, awake. She shrugged him off, a small smirk as she watched him be almost offended that she had so rudely awoken him. The mouth that had given death to a few, now opened to let a pink tongue loll, and grin as she skirted out of his reach for the nip. Instead she took off, weaving through pines while she could hear him chasing after her. Caligula was well aware of the fact that Tesseract was faster than her when it came down to it, but she appreciated her mate faking his own slow pace for her benefit. She twisted and turned as tightly as her body (which was built more for strength than speed) would allow. It was only when she saw the break of the pines and the small meadows that were the short transition between woods and shores that she realized she had been herded there. She shakes her head at her own ignorance, though she never could imagine Tesseract harming her in his manipulations. If anything, when he had stopped her jaws or her attacks it had always ended in their benefit. Though, Vidar had best keep hidden from her. And probably anything else that Vague had fathered on their mother. (Little did she know about her mother's newest conquest and the results). She stood, her tongue lolling but hardly exhausted. She turned her head as she waited for him to come into view and when he closed the distance between them she took off across the meadow and down the dunes. Into the surf she fled, the cool water soaking her body and taking some of the heat with it as it dripped down her legs.

Caligula only then looked for her partner in life. She pranced around in the surf and her tail thrashed happily, sending a stream of water droplets. The sun was shining brightly on their white sandy beaches. At the distant aspect of the shore she could see the tip of the Island that she herself had not properly investigated. She was not trusting of the waters between the Island and the mainland. The winds brought with them scents of salt and the various creatures that occasionally made themselves known on the beaches. Caligula scented the air for a moment, perhaps out of habit more than anything else. It seemed they had the beach to themselves and this suited the dark creature just fine. The call of gulls upset that their havens had been once again violated by the wolves made the corners of her mouth turn up just slightly. She glanced for her Tesseract before proceeding. If he did not feel like attempting the quick meals that gulls could make, she would not move a muscle. The waves came crashing down behind her, flooding her legs up to her elbows as they grasped for the shore. Greedy waves washed the sand beneath her feet but Caligula stood fast while awaiting her companions decision. An ear was trained on him, while her head lowered even with ther topline and her mismatched gaze trained on the gulls that had reorganized themselves a little farther down the beach.
