Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

goes the clock, we laughed at fate and mourned her, tick tock goes the clock even for the monster

Fighting a deranged wolf was something she had grown accustomed to. It was this knowledge and experience that made her a survivor. As he slammed into her she dug her paws into the ground forcing her carcass to remain firm as he put much pressure on her. Males were naturally bigger and stronger than females, but she had tenacity and determination on her side, to keep herself up. She would jerk her neck back and forth, away from his snapping fangs. At one point, some of those sharp ivories pinched part of her neck fur, she let out a low growl in retaliation as she snapped back at him, catching his shoulder and digging into the area between shoulder and neck. Clamping down she could hear those guttural sounds, almost sounding passionate. Her own snarl held a dark passionate tone to it. It would almost seem like they were in a very rough lover’s quarrel, the way they moved and growled at one another, the way they eyed one another as they tried to snap to leave permanent marks on each other. You know what they say…biting is a lot like kissing…only there is a winner. At this point in time she was trying to win, to save her own hide and the young pup’s. After she managed to get the pup safely out of the river bank and into the thick marsh grasses and weeds she ran away making sure to get to him, to get his focus and attention on her. It wouldn’t do Gecko any good if she was being killed by another, especially when she was already down. Her ebony ears twitched when she heard the angry war cry, letting her know that he was on his way. She could hear his braying call coming closer, and closer to her. Her dial would turn in his direction as he broke through the bushes, the sounds of twigs and leaves breaking as he turned his massive carcass towards her. Sapphire eyes narrowed as she saw his ebony and ivory frame point in her direction, his ears and eyes locked on her, thankfully showing no signs about the whereabouts of the pup. Her bristled ebony fur stood on end as a ruthless snarl rattled deep within her scarred chest. A low harsh cold tone leapt out as she made her own challenging retort.

“If you can even catch me in the first place.”

Turning her head to the side she noticed a rather large log barely staying still on the jagged rocks that supported its weight in the crystal blue current. She was lucky to have gotten herself and the pup out of the river, because just around the bend the water only got violent and dangerous for a wolf to swim, let alone, keep hold of another. Her mind racing as a clever plan was crafted. She needed to get rid of him. The current was fast enough to pull his form far away from her and the hidden pup. If only she could make him follow her. Charging for the log she ran quickly leaping onto the log. She could feel the log groan with displeasure from her weight, but one could hardly hear over the sound of the rushing current and the choppy waters. Turning around, carefully, she started walking backwards, keeping herself steady as she looked to the brute. Her eyes caught something wide and flat behind her, when she checked to make sure there was enough room to continue going back. The other side of the bank, was a good jump away. She turned around and heard the wood creak at his massive weight. Feeling the log get looser, her heart pounding madly as she let out another low growl, salvia dripping from her exposed teeth. Turning around sharply she leapt for the bank, barely making it. Instead of landing on her paws her ebony and silver form slammed into the mud her body sliding. Panting, she picked her head up and noticed that due to her quick movements jumping off the log, in addition the combination of their weight made the log break apart. He didn’t have enough room on the log or the time to even attempt to leap to her. His form would be caught in the wild currents. Wincing she got up on all fours, watching, waiting, hoping the current would carry him off wherever and keep him from getting on her bank or where the hidden pup was. Seeing his form go around the bend she turned around and ran up the bank, looking for another way to get back to the pup. After finding her way, she ran to where the hidden pup remained, and tried waking her up, hoping to get the pettifogging pup up and back to her home. Where she would be safe.
