For Meggie <3

The day was smiling, rich and beautiful. The land seemed golden, the warmth of summer with the soft brush of a breeze. Phoebe smiled with pure innocent joy. Her heart felt light, her body moving to the time of the earth’s music. Slowly, step for step that sunk into the grains of sand the woman danced. Wings tucked to her lily white sides, she raised her blue cloven hooves to jog to the left, then the right tucking her head and swishing her tail so that it flowed and swirled in the soft caressing wind behind her. Unfurling her wings she stretched them high then swept them low, allowing the ends to brush the ground as she lowered her head and closed her eyes. Ears acutely attuned with the world around her the sound of the waves rushing up around her legs caused her to sweep around again. Raising her feathers so that the salty spray could not touch them, the mare opened her silver eyes once more and came to a stand. The liquid that swirled and danced around her pillars was just as much in tune with the world’s music as she was. It was not often she felt this way, but today she was alive.

Peering back to the world she had come from, the dark trees that stood guard of the edge belonging to this territory she looked for her sister. Phoebe had gone ahead, seeking whatever it was that had been calling to her during her travels. Whether the black mare had seen her dance or not, Phoebe did not care. In fact she did not care if anyone had seen. It had represented her joy of this land and she hoped that she had given it enough effort to show the true beauty.

“Adiecto?”

The beautiful creature calls out to her other half, seeking out the darkness in which she was light. The smile still graces her lips as she sees nothing to be despaired about. This was joyous times when such a place could be found to celebrate the sun.
