PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Lithium
Truth be told, I never was yours

Women have had their roles in history throughout the ages. But most (exempting the past few decades) have been playing behind the scenes, or with mythical status, such as the tribes of Amazonian women and queens throughout Europe. The former sect consists of manipulative women behind the scenes of politics, demimonde who sold information to powerful men, and the many who served in the armed forces disguised as men until late. If Lithium could have known one like Emma Goldman, or Bonnie Prince Charlie, or Helena Blavatsky she might have loved them for their cunning and their strength, in ways she never could a man. Not in the ways of sex and hormones, but in the ways one loves a sunset. Alas, she would never know of their accomplishments.

This is why it surprised her that the rumors she heard were true. Here, at the base of the peak, the pollution of stallions waned away. The remaining aromas were the distinct fumes of femme. As the the black-veined mare began her trek she felt the heat of tears behind her eyes contrasting the cold, for what reason she couldn't say. It was as though she were finishing a pilgrimage. Arriving at her destination relieved a weight from her shoulders that she'd been carrying for so long she had forgotten about it. It wasn't that Lithium hated the other gender any less, but here she was safe from them.

Lithium would have investigated sooner, but she had to deal with her friend Muscle. The fact that she even dared to think the word friend in relation to a stallion shocked her. Muscle was a sad case which she had gotten to know a little too well. His mental patchwork was tattering, but she'd seen a sharper intellect in his eyes before. Lithium let out a heavy sigh and allowed herself to take a piece of his patchwork and stitch it in hers in a place as "EXEMPT FROM HER HATRED."

The sooty bay had made it about half way up the peak and was expecting a mare to greet her soon. She assumed she would have to convince them of her worth, and convince them that she should stay. She would in fact stay, whether they liked it or not. There was nowhere else she would rather do so.
