Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Nord indeed was beginning to feel more comfortable around Mistletoe. She was nice and softspoken, and it was clear that she was taking precautions as to not startle him. He appreciated it, he really did. She did have a lot of questions for him though, but he didn't mind it that much. Once he warmed up to someone else, he was far less nervous and jumpy then when he first met them. And Mistletoe's quieter nature was helping with that as well. "I'm new to these lands, so I'm just exploring, I guess." he answered. There was no real reason he had come to the river, he hadn't even actually known there had even been a river here until now. He was just going where his paws took him for now.

At her next question Nord's ears laid back slightly. "I-I'm fine, it's... just how I am." the youth said quietly. He didn't have any other excuse for it. "I grew up with just one wolf, and he was very quiet and to himself..." he said. He glanced at her as she asked her next question. Nord supposed that his last statement led into the answer to this question, but he hadn't talked so much in ages. It was actually quite nice, to be honest. Though he was still a bit uptight he really was beginning to warm up to Mistletoe. If he hadn't been, there was no way that he would be answering her questions like he was. "It's just something I've always done... there's something about making eye contact that's, uh, intimidating, sometimes." the male said truthfully, hesitating a moment before rising to go sit by the river with her. But it was strange to him that she would be so concerned with his behaviour. Were others truly this nice? If that was so, perhaps he should try harder to not be a nervous wreck all of the time.

He sat a few feet away from her on the riverbank, his tail wrapping neatly around his white paws. Her question was confusing. Nord didn't quite understand what she meant by it, but on her further elaboration it became a bit more answerable. He didn't want to get it wrong or screw it up somehow. Well it seemed like it was a matter of opinion but still, maybe he wasn't understanding her right. Nord looked into the water, his reflection distorted by the ripples in the river. He thought for a moment. "Well I guess I am usually afraid of them." he dabbed a paw into the water, his reflection being further distorted by the introduction of his paw. "I don't know how to react to them so I don't. I go the other way." he said quietly, looking up at Mistletoe. "I-I'm not sure if that's the answer you wanted..."
