News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Was it possible to get tired of thinking? She had started to believe so. Lately, she had done so much of it that it seemed every ounce of her energy was used to brood away. There had been no fun for her, seldom any refreshing rest and even worst, she had once more become reclusive within Spirane, keeping away from the outside world and keeping herself all too busy. If she hadn't been patrolling the pack land, then she had been tending to her own den, rearranging and cleaning each of her collected trinkets. The den had been stuffed with stones, feathers and even shells that she had snatched up on the far eastern side of the woods. She'd had to add a new one of late, a tumbled water stone with flecks of a sun-like colour throughout. It reminded her of Pan, which was not innately a good thing. Whoever he was, he had caused her much stress since their meeting and that had been the source of all her over thinking. Surely he had been wrong and surely, she was ill with some kind of strange disease.

Today, however, she had taken to patrolling the borders, pacing over them over and over. How long had it been since she had seen Alcide? It seemed like months, perhaps even seasons by that point. Even Daenarys had seemingly disappeared along side her father, and Moonglow's reappearance had been sporadic. It worried her, adding onto her already stressful mind - she'd fast started to care for the family, her loyalties lying within the steadfast male of Alcide. How could they not? He reminded her so much of Soldat and thus, so much of her own true home of Litherum. She worried, yes, but there was little more she could do other than hope, wait and maintain the border's as best as she possibly could. Each time she found a foreign scent, she snuffed it out as much as possible, following them for some time and ensuring there had not been some sort of breach. Today, even, there was a foreign scent on the wind, a male that somehow smelt... familiar and yet, awfully foreign. She'd follow it without question for she had to be sure that all were safe within Spirane's borders.

She moved on short bouncing strides, her dainty paws taking her silently across the boulders of the mountain. A small wolf, she had always been concealed well in the scenery, her pale peppered coat making her blend into the slate of the rocks. It is from those very rocks that she spotted the male, his own slate and brown coat making him hard to spy as he moved along the rocks. Below her, she watched the entire scene play out, all while simply poking her head out from behind her hiding place, ever curious as to what he could be up to. After all, he hardly seemed domineering, and in fact, he appeared rather young, still not quite big enough for his own paws. Perhaps she had been wrong? Perhaps she had encountered a wanderer in search of refuge.

The confirmation came soon enough for no sooner than she had thought it, he yelped out in pain as the porcupine hobbled away, seemingly self satisfied. Instantly, she perked up, her ears cupping forward as she flinched forward, eyes wide and fixated on him. From her distance, she could see the barbs stick out from his flesh, four awkward, elongated parts to his tail. Hell, she could even smell the faintest traces of blood! Oh, she couldn't help but whine beneath her breath in empathy, knowing the pain of such a thing all too well. She had to help. Did she have any other option?

Without another moment's hesitation, she barreled down the mountain side, nimble paws taking her from one boulder to the next with seemingly effortless grace. It had taken her some four seasons to become so adept but now, she understood why she had put so much effort into her travels. There was surely no wolf faster than she on the mountain - she made it to the younger male in no time, panting quietly as she slowed to a jog and dipped her head.

"I'm coming to help you, okay?"

She called out to him, pausing some ten or so feet from him with a cocked head and kindly smile. She'd check first, of course, to see that he meant her no harm; there were far too many feral wolves that'd attack a helping hand if they could. Still, the sudden excitement of having to help another had certainly taken her mind off of things and she found it almost... relieving. It likely wouldn't go down to well to thank the male for being so careless, though.

"I'm Niviaq, a Healer from Spirane. Is it okay if I come over to you?"

She spoke softer this time, almost as a mother would as her tail waved slowly behind her. Every part of her was focused towards one goal: ensuring the male knew she meant no harm, and that she was entirely here to be nothing but pleasant.
