If Sinclair were anything, it was simple. He only ever handled one thought at one time and one emotion at one time. Unless, of course, the subject turned to Cersei, who inevitably made his gut squirm with pleasant nervousness and spun his mind into chaotic loops. So, when Osiris admitted his mind filled with many thinks, Sinclair tilted his head, for he couldn’t exactly relate. However, Sinclair grinned at Osiris’ joke. Old men did tend to wander over too many memories and ideas, though Sinclair had hardly gotten that impression from the wolf. He seemed more, well, more like Sinclair. Introverted and come how more mature than his age would suggest. Sin was thrilled that Osiris wasn’t out on a mission, though he couldn’t say he knew what to do with being happy about it. Stay and chat, he supposed.
“Hardly. Old men ramble,” Sin replied pleasantly, but was unsure where to go from there. With a closer friend, Sinclair would have inquired about the plethora of thoughts flooding their mind, but since he and Osiris were only officially meeting… that seemed inappropriate. Instead, Sin decided he should introduce himself. Just because he knew Osiris’ name didn’t mean his peer knew his, “My name is Sinclair. It’s nice meet you face to face – you know, since I’ve only ever known of you but not… uh… known you.”
Wow, if that made any sense at all. Hopefully Sin would be forgiven for his awkwardness. These first interactions were full of glitches for a lot of wolves, after all. Though, it would be a lie if Sinclair said he wasn’t nervous about being thought of as a weirdo or stupid. When he was older, such thoughts wouldn’t plague him, but as a young two year old, fitting in and making acquaintances was something that very much concerned him. He had been taught that being alone was a bad thing, and thus, he sought others to surround himself with. Especially since his brother, Lamar, and his mother, Sinopa, had disappeared for far longer than he should like. He felt truly… on his own the past seasons, and it was starting to scare him that he enjoyed the sudden independence.
He still loved his family, but he had gotten a taste of adulthood, and he had to admit that the idea of being his own boss was very appealing. However, the not-quite grown up part of him still craved the comfort of his mother and all the things she’d provided for him when he was a newborn growing up. Perhaps was was truly bothering him on that front was that he felt a sudden distance growing between him and his brother, who he had rarely seen nor spoken to in a year. He didn’t want the same gap to form between him and his mater (latin for mother). He would have to make the effort to visit her soon; maybe Sin could even introduce Osiris to her if they hit it off well. So far, Sin liked the wolf, but the conversation was just starting too. |
