why study history when you can live it?

those who do not learn from history
are doomed to repeat it
Ok, I was really starting to get the feeling that I was the third (fourth) wheel here? I genuinely also seemed to be the only one who didn’t have a stake in the outcome. That made me a neutral party… I’m usually not a neutral party! This is exciting! I nodded to Xina, who completely ignored me.

Talk about rude.

You know? Is it too much to ask for a nod? Some form of acknowledgement? Hump. How did sweet little Mera come from this thing? Maybe I would have to find out… Oh, this sounds like an exciting adventure! Ok, maybe not exciting and probably not an adventure. If she was like this normally, eh, I have yet to back down from a challenge. Well, except be a good girl and stay with the Brute. But that was asking for a little too much - especially when you throw my daughter into that mess.

But it was not my child who was apparently on trail here. Sahin did lash out a bit. And I can’t blame him. I mean, mysterious colt appears in the land… was there another stallion poking about? Eh, more things to figure out on. The gold coat though… was it one of that Midas-over-on-the-Ridge’s? And what was it with gold coats and this island? I don’t know.

Then Conquistador peaks around Xina as the latter describes that she was not lying. She was just strengthening the boy. So he probably wasn’t from here. Now that I get a good look… he does look like he is standing on that cliff of death and about ready to fall off. I mean, I’m thin but that’s how I am. I’m toned and can run for days. Okay, maybe not days but the point remains… How did a colt in his condition get out here if he wasn’t born?

I did watch as Conquistador stepped from behind Xina and reached up towards Sahin. My heart fluttered a bit because, well, it was adorable. But wasn’t the colt a little old for gestures like that? I mean, he should be galavanting around and trying to figure out his own place in life. Mostly running around with adults chasing. I spent Satitba’s first year just trying to keep an eye on the girl. I looked over at Sahin, wondering what he was going to do.

I couldn’t imagine anything besides accepting the gesture. The kid was sweet.
