Time has passed by Natu in an insufferably slow manner within the last month or so. Memories assail her and with them comes emotions she has tried to stamp down - sadness, anger, frustration, and loneliness. The loneliness eats her up from within and pushes her fit body into a dash with her ears pinned down. She lowered her head as she ran and focused her senses, enjoying the rich scent of damp moss and forest. It was a familiar and comforting scent that soothed her inner turmoil.
She had traveled far and wide searching endlessly for a place to begin a new life. Although not youthful as some Natu was in her prime. She had lost a mate long ago and the residual effects still haunted her. Long ago she had birthed pups, had loved them, and had watched them die one-by-one. It was a pain she wished away. And to forget she had strayed far in her lifetime. Once she had reached the vast lands of Moladion she had found evidence of other wolves.
Shaking off her memories, Natu slows her pace and catches sight of a trickling stream. It babbles gently in invitation and she hunches her white body at the edge of it to watch the water twist and writhe. A movement flickers beneath the water and her blue eyes snap to the fish as it twists about. It is then that she realizes her own hunger - she does not remember when she last ate. Perhaps it was days ago when she had felled a hare, or maybe it was a mouse another time. Little meals that did little to pack in energy for her wanderings.
She remains frozen as she watches the creature, waiting until she feels it is the right time. In a rush her lithe body leans forward and she ducks her muzzle beneath the sparkling creek. But when her teeth clamp together she is disappointed at the lack of scales between them. Nothing but her own teeth touch together. Jerking out of the water she shakes her head and huffs in displeasure. "So long, clever fish," she murmurs, her voice deep and melodious. Sensing defeat Natu sits back on her haunches and takes in her surroundings, watching and hoping that the loneliness that lurks at the edges of her mind will soon be assuaged.
