News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

I am still sore from my squirmish with Snowshoe, but slowly my wounds were healing. The gash situated just above my shoulders where the black-masked female had bitten into my neck was scabbed over now, but the skin was still swollen and tender. My usually majestic gait was hindered slightly, and thus I took more care when making my rounds throughout Spirane. I wasn't about to shirk my duties now, not after defending my Title. I would make good on my promise, I would be here and make my presence known and crystal clear.

I was checking on the winter Dens, where I knew soon mothers would be nesting in preparation for the litters to come next spring. It was still only late fall, but Winter always comes early to the Mountains, and the rugged landscape with blustering winds always took it's toll upon the caverns that labyrinthed through the heart of the mountain. I checked the corridors for signs of collapse or any deterioration around the cave mouths, and as I was going through my mental checklist, a song rises up from the lower altitudes and I take pause to listen.

Auds perk atop my crown and I venture to the closest vista where I might catch sight of the visitor further down the mountain slope near the tree-line.

Amethyst eyes squint against the glare of intense midday sun, their normally dream-like quality seemed sharper then they had before. Hardened slightly from battle perhaps, or simply because my right eye still burned, the white of the orb stained red as a painful lesion struck across my brow. Yet another adornment gifted by Snowshoe. The deep cut was puckered and burned to the touch, swollen about the socket still and I knew one day it would leave the shadow of a scar. It limited the scope of vision on the right side of my face until the swelling went down, and it took me several minutes before I caught a glimpse of the stranger near the border.

I rear back my tiara and reply with a lovely sonata so that she'd be made aware her summons had not gone unnoticed. Then I backtracked down the cragged stone paths, descending the slope until the female came within sight and earshot.

"Salutations," I spoke in an amiable greeting. I smiled, my lips producing a radiant smile despite the vulgar marks left from combat, and waved my plume high with authority as I approached. "Welcome to Spirane stranger, I am Moonglow, Alphess of the Mountain. To what do I owe the honor of your visit this day?" There is something regal in the words I speak. Something soft and gentle, for I am first and foremost a Shamaness. A wolf of Healing and a conduit of the Great Spirit. But there is more there now... a part of me that has lain dormant since birth. Something more akin to the primordial warriors of my Heritage.

I watch her with wise, wistful eyes, waiting to see what she had to say.
