     Pup-sitting?! Big Bro was going to use her for pup-sitting?! That damnable job was meant for Chael. He was the servitor, after all. Näkki snorted as she laced her ears back and trotted through the snow, leaving impressions of her paws in the hideous whiteness. Well… really, Andras had given her a very peculiar job. It’d be a lie if she said that it hadn’t piqued her curiosity. Breaking the kindness in a demon’s soul? Thousands of ideas came to Näkki. There were infinite ways to break away that part of the spirit… but hardly any of them would break Siren’s goodness the correct way. Näkki didn’t desire to drive the young runt away but rather, she wanted to draw her in. Siren needed to be lulled into the darkness, seduced by the ways of hell. Näkki wanted to instill the love of cruelty in Siren. But how in tarnation was she supposed to accomplish that?! These demon pups should be born that way. For damnation’s sake! The she-pup’s parents were Andras and Lillith! One would think taking blood baths would be what the pup would most enjoy.

     Näkki paused and perked her ears forward. Her eyes gleamed when the thought brought an unexpected, red idea to her imagination. Then she shook her head and banished the thought as she picked up her pace again. She couldn’t get too far ahead of herself. It was better to not make plans before she’d even met the pipsqueak. The parent’s favorite pipsqueak, if Näkki could guess. She was going be receiving individual attention from her, the family friend, after all. Maybe Siren’s parents were going to groom her for leadership one day. What possessed them to entrust such an important little twat to her was beyond any reason she could see, but she supposed they were far too busy to do all of the teaching of their young on their own. Well… all reason except one; maybe they needed Nakki to break her so that they couldn’t be blamed for the hate that would surely follow… On the contrary, if Näkki had any skill in this good-breaking, she would be able to avoid being the target of revenge, and if she proved excellent at it, then there would only be love in Siren’s heart for Iromar and the Demon Code.

     But if all attempts in instilling love of darkness failed, then she’d be forced to turn to more primitive measures. Andras had given her full reign, essentially. Whatever it took, including beating the pup. Näkki heaved a sigh. This was going to be a pain. Already, it was requiring extreme amounts of brain power and she hadn’t even started yet! Näkki grumbled an incoherent curse as she concentrated on tracking Siren’s scent. Sadly, it was easy to follow. If there was one thing Näkki truly loved, it was the hunt. The challenge of tracking down prey and chasing it got her blood hot. The harder it was to find and catch, the more addicted and determined Näkki was to rip out the throat of what she was chasing. As one could imagine, the easy trail was entirely uninspiring, but she supposed that was fitting. She wasn’t supposed to kill Siren, after all, though she might be forced into coming close to it.

     When Näkki found the she-pup, she wrinkled her nose in something close to annoyance and paused some distance away to watch Siren in whatever activity she had chosen to be involved in. If she were to gage the best way to permanently remove the kindness in Siren, she had best learn about her victim. What interests did Siren hold? Who did she love? Who did she respect? What did she know? How intelligent was she? How moldable was she? As Näkki observed Siren, her tail tip flicked sharply from side to side and her pale silvery-pink eyes narrowed in concentration, revealing the sharp mind that was behind her mask of laziness. If there was one positive attribute in Näkki, it was that when she was at work, she was fully engaged in the job at paw.
