Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Shimza raised an eyebrow at the pup when she prattled some useless language at her. Nahuatl, it sounded like, though Shimza didn’t understand a word of it. As first, Shimza was prepared to snap a the little thing about the stupidity of using anything but the language that Shimza had “greeted” her in. However, the pup realized her mistake immediately and apologized for it. Well, at least the pup had some training in etiquette even if her fur was a disaster. Oh wait, she hadn’t actually apologized for using the language, but for her coming into public looking terribly disheveled. Shimza rolled her eyes. Oh well, either way she could work with a wolf that could apologized.

It was unwise of the pups not to be in the least cautious, She decided. However, even Shimza was aware that she didn’t give that threatening aura that came so naturally to others, so she didn’t blame the black backed girl for lack of fear. In fact, it might make this task easier because any pup that would have freak out in horror would surely have taken up more of Shimza’s time because she’d have been force to calm it down. Instead, this little female proved quite confident, so much so that she felt secure enough to ask Shimza a question. Well now, Heyel, eh? The little scrap knew him?

Shimza didn’t. She only knew of him, for his name was common in rumors. However, she new she wouldn’t like the old geezer. He was a tyrant, liar, and assassin. Furthermore, she’d have nothing to do with anyone who was in the business of life stealing. Killing in defense was one thing, and that she could swallow, but killing others for a job was something unrespectable and served to create a world of misery. As far as she concerned, he was raised on a pedestal because of the bones of those he’d brought to ruin.

She snorted in disgust and exclaimed, “Perish the thought! I certainly am not. I’ve never met the old geezer and I don’t intend to.” Her tail lashed side to side. From where she came from, it was often she woke to the worried whispers of murders having been carried out that night and she rued the thought that she’d stepped onto a land that revered an assassin king. She eyed the pup harshly, “If you know what’s good for you, you’ll stay away from the wolf. He’s a murderer and built his pack on the blood of others.” She wasn’t going to wait around she the pup to confirm though, for in all honesty, Shimza didn’t expect to be heeded. No one ever heeded her anyways.

“Now, where is your home, pup? You should return to it so your mother can give you a bath and straighten your fur,” Shimza commanded. She’d escort the puppy home, if she had to. The free lands were no place for clumsy pups that treated them like an adventure, for they were a far more hazardous place than they appeared. Survival out here wasn’t for the likes of any wolf that was accustomed to pack life. The rules were different and harsher.
