At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

I can only hope at first that my actions speak of my friendly nature since he doesn't seem all that eager for visitors. As his hackles lower, I grow hopeful, my tail swaying back and forth. His lips tug into the hint of a smile and I feel my body relaxing, glad that I might not have to high tail it out of here after all. I'm not a coward by any means but it certainly wouldn't prove a point to attack him if he attacked me. I could only hope to defend myself long enough to get away. Luckily it doesn't seem like that will be necessary but his continued silence is curious.

He starts wagging his tail and I smile, glad to have gotten through to him that I'm a friend. As he starts pawing at the ground, I lean up to see better, my brow rising in question as I try to focus on what the marks on the ground mean. When he's done, he sits back, dipping his head in greeting, looking a little proud of himself as if he accomplished something. It takes me a minute or two to understand the markings but finally I start seeing a name out of it. I glance back up at him.

"North? Is that your name?"

He starts looking around same as he was before, as if expecting enemies to appear from behind me. My ears lower a little in concern. This is no way for a wolf to live. When he looks back at me, he seems awkward and I prick my ears again, wagging my tail to remind him that I mean him no harm.

"You look like you're afraid of someone. Is someone after you? Are you in danger?"

He seems to relax some finally and I smile in reassurance but at the same time, he looks a little frustrated, as if he's been doing this a while. I scowl.

"I bet you're tired of always looking over your shoulder. Why don't you join a pack? I know it might sound scary but the other wolves all watch each others' backs so you don't have to tire yourself out always looking over your own. You'll make friends and you can relax. Doesn't that sound good?"

I wait patiently for his response, hoping I'm not going to run him off with my idea.
