Some things are easier said than done...
She had understood his markings on the earth, and smiled at him before starting a long speech. It filled him with guilt to know that he hadn't been able to tell her he was deaf, and now she had attempted to tell him something he just couldn't make out. He was experienced at lip reading, yet longer and more complex sentences confused him. His crystal gaze swallowed in her own amber portals, as he tried to gesture his disability.
Using his left fore paw, he pawed at his ears and shook his head. After that, he folded them against his skull to show they were useless. He hoped she had got his signs, so she would know he could not hear her. His tail stopped swaying, and he showed her his scars as to signify why he was always afraid. His parents had severely abused him, and he was afraid to ever face another enemy who would hurt him. He wasn't as big as others, and he couldn't hold his weight in his fight. He was pathetic, really. It was all his parents' fault.
Sighing, he looked to the floor with a discouraged mask worn upon his face. He felt bad that he could not speak to Arwen, the beautiful lass who had offered unheard help to him. He hoped she did not leave him soon, because he did not talk back. It wasn't up to him if he could or not. Ice gaze once again searching for the amber orbs of Arwen, North shifted his weight once again before laying down in the pit he had made.
