Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

There are a Few Warriors Among Us

_________________________________________________________________________

The sleeping brute was startled awake by a presence on his neck. He calmed instantly when he realized it was his brother, relief flooding through him at the other male’s presence. Fili staggered back because of Kili’s surprised reaction, but his kissers tugged into a smile and Kili knew his brother was just as happy to see him as he was. The males embraced, both feeling more whole now that they were together again, neither was really whole without the other by their side. Their different colored pelts meshed together as Kili brushed along his brother’s side, wanting to make sure his brother was intact after their separation. Kili knew in that moment that neither of them would be able to live without the other.

The black brute let himself down onto the leaf padded floor, tail wagging lazily in happiness now that his brother was back. He sighed heavily and rolled his chocolate brown eyes as Fili began meticulously searching his younger brother for injuries. Kili had learned at this point to deal with it now as Fili had always been picking at him for years. He didn’t like being babied but he learned the hard way that fighting his brother about it didn’t go anywhere, and besides he secretly liked the attention. The brujo knew he could take care of himself, but it was nice to know that there was someone who was so focused on his safety and well-being. Kili of course would do anything for his brother as well, but he liked acting like the baby brother and not having the same responsibility as the older sibling. He flicked his tail in mock annoyance at his brother, never letting him on to the fact that he enjoyed the treatment. ”Cut it out would ya? I’m fine Fili, really” He knew his words would mean nothing, and that his brother would not stop until he was satisfied with his inspection.

Fili waved his banner dismissively when the younger male asked how he was, instead questioning Kili, "You look thin. Have you been eating enough? It's dangerous for you not to, you know. What about rest? You leave yourself very vulnerable when you're tired. I don't want you getting hurt, you hear me?" This was something that really did annoy Kili. He understood the whole big brother role, but that did not mean that Kili did not care about his older brother. He knew Fili would always be over-protective, as most older siblings would be, but the first born still needed to know this his older brother was okay. He huffed verbally in annoyance, glaring at his brother momentarily to show his disapproval of Fili avoiding his questions. ”Yes Fili I know I need to eat and sleep to live. I’m not trying to kill myself here. It’s a little difficult to focus on all that though when you’re looking for your misplaced older brother y’know? So calm down big bro, we’ll be fine now that we’re together again.” He ended his vocals in a chuckle, hoping if he was calm and relaxed then Kili would realize that he really was okay. The older male continued to pull brambles and thorns out of Kili’s unkempt pelt.

When the red-blonde brute was finally satisfied that Kili was as clean as he could get, he curled around the ebony male, their different colored pelts fusing together as the two became one. Kili felt his brother’s cranium rest on his neck and he laid his own head upon his paws, relaxed and at ease when his big brother was around. "It took a while. You didn't make it easy, I'll tell you that much. Truth is, I'd almost given up. This mountain was the last place I had to look. Not nearly as glad as I am for you." Now that Fili knew Kili was alright he finally addressed the younger one’s previous questions, clearing his throat as Kili knew his brother did when he was uncomfortable, and the black brute pulled his head up, auds flicking back in concern about what his brother had to say, his brown orbs meeting the other’s green ones. “No. I don't. I ran away when they were all asleep. I doubt they even know where I am. I certainly don't know where they are." Kili nodded in understanding, knowing he would have done the same thing. The brothers had a much more profound bond than to any of the other lupines in their group, and neither of them would be able to move on if the other was not with them.

The raven colored brute smiled encouragingly at his brother, ”Well you know I would have done the same thing. I’m sure we can catch up to them though. It’ll be dealing with Thorin that will make things interesting. You know he’ll be sore with us after we both disappeared…” Their leader was not a mean lupine, but he would not want to wait around for the twins or anyone for that matter. But Thorin seemed to get upset about a lot of things, and his anger did not bother Kili. Kili stood behind Thorin and their quest, but he thought the male needed to loosen up a bit and have some fun here and there. Kili could never be as somber as the other brute or he would go crazy. He could tell by Fili’s flattened audettes that he was not as laid back about Thorin’s temperament, but Kili would get them out of it somehow. "Rest, Kili. You need to." The brute was tired, but he also knew that Fili would be as well. The black brute laid his head back on his paws, orbs closing as he spoke his last words before nodding off to sleep, knowing his brother would protect him, ”You should sleep too. We’ll be safe here for a while. Especially with the storm.”
