Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Note: Susil Crags will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

On the wings of death, by the hands of doom
By the darkest light from the darkest moon
Crossing silent seas over mountains high
For we stand as one tonight
- Dragonforce “Valley of the Damned”
If a pup grew up being told by ever wolf they lived with that they were weak, the pup would eventually start to believe them, for the as a pup, they were easy to push around. And Chael had believed them. He did not cherish his own existence because of his feebleness, and knew Mother Nature would surely swallow him whole. Yet because the demons, the strongest of all wolves, allowed him to stay with them, he lived. For this, he had for most of his life considered that his life was theirs to with what they saw fit. This imprinting, though, had shifted the perspective. He was now this black female’s. He couldn’t allow his life to be terminated because she needed him. However, his loyalty to Iromar was still there. He’d only cast it aside if ever he found his relation with them harmed her. Not that he thought it ever would as he saw the flash of well former teeth close to his muzzle. Her independence assured him that his dependence on Iromar, while perhaps disgusting her, certainly didn’t harm her well-being.

Her words surprised him. Not truly because they were unexpected, but because he had never dared even think about leaving. Leave?! He couldn’t do that! Ever. At the same time, he thought, Why not? He could live with his gemstone-eyed treasure. But he shook the thought away. No, he couldn’t change ever. He was unworthy – weak – and to start out on his own would spell death for him. He was incapable of living without the pack because despite their harshness, they provided for him what he couldn’t find himself which was enough food for him to live. He rarely hunted because he didn’t enjoy the hunt and didn’t have the drive to kill anything, though it didn’t disgust him either. He went weeks sometimes without having to flush out more prey than ants.

He tilted his head at the slight madness in her eyes. He knew then the fate she had chosen for those that had wronged her. It was here let out his affectionate growl that she recoiled away from. Her eyes were the eyes of Demons and revealed the madness that made them strong. The latent monster she contained was an entity of beauty to him. He had been taught that that was the way of the strong, and thus, it only served to further attract him to her. Apparently, the fates that had intertwined their souls had known exactly what they were doing. Who else on this earth could love such a creature except one who only knew how to love?

His voice layered itself with new admiration for her. “Indeed that may have been the reaction I might have had if such bloodlust did I own. However, you misunderstand me. I love them. Despite my lacking worth, they find it in their frozen hearts to let me live among them, the strong.”

Chael lost himself in her chilling glare for a moment. The potency of the imprinting was fading, but he had yet to lift himself from being engulfed by her. She was earth and sky to him, after all. He grinned kindly at her poisonous tones and answered her promptly, “Oh, I do not know what discovery awaits or why you would need me for it, but I expect we must discover the purpose of the fates together. What I would like to know before me embark upon this quest of discovery, however, is your true name?” He stepped forwards to her side and curled his head towards her back. He breathed in her scent. It was sweet to him - mouthwatering. He held it in his nose, unwilling to let the aroma fade away. Then, he let it out the hot breath onto her back. She had rejected it last time, but he couldn't help himself. He was being drawn because of his instinctual desires, but he’d not force himself upon her. As he had concluded before, he couldn't touch her. That didn’t mean he wouldn’t try to lure her into connection with him, though.
