Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

The avian predators seemed to be about circling leading most into a false sense of food being available. She wasn’t so much hungry but the thought of a free meal didn’t repulse her either. She was fine without needing to hunt urgently perhaps she could find someone of a larger size and use them to her advantage however it seemed it was not the case today; it seemed she was alone for the time being. Knowing of other creatures habits proved profitable more often than not. Predators much hungrier than she would undoubted fallow the lead if they were upwind as she or even then those with poor sense of smell could come from downwind as well. She knew best to leave the birds to their games and make herself distant.

She hadn’t been walking to long as the rustling of underbrush stirred her senses. It could just be the winter breezes gusting through the trees but she felt it was not so and kept her ears up at alert as she padded on. She did not fear another but she was no fool and would not so easily be ambushed if such where willing to try she was a smaller fem but she was fast an intelligent; a lethal combination if wielded properly. She aimed to scent the air but walking into the wind’s gales made it most difficult to learn what if anything was behind her. She began to move deeper into the forest closer to a place that smelt of swamp at least it is what she registered from the breeze.

The snow had settled in some places more than others, it was not entirely repulsive to her but it was not a fun matter either. It clung to her limbs making her fur soggy a very unpleasant sensation to say the least. Spring would be well welcomed after dealing with this winters weather. She could practically smell the new blooms and even feel the warm rays of the sun running it’s fingers through her coat; but being brought back to reality as the breeze change direction some of the soft white flakes found place on her coat before being dislodged by the shaking of her body. “A pleasant day.” She spoke halfheartedly to her own ears. It in and of itself was not unpleasant but more so to the fact it was unproductive; no one to observe or converse with. Perhaps that would change soon? Only time would tell.
