Acknowledging the climb of the morning star with the cracked opening of his right eyelid, the topaz marble had glanced around briefly to take in his surroundings. The ground had seem undisturbed since the wolf had decided to rest his eyes for the moment, aside from the worn down path from his anxious treading about as he awaited to be greeted by someone, something, any sort of company, really. A disgruntled sigh had bellowed out from cracked, blackened lips which briefly expressed the set of jaws that the male had possessed. With his ears swiveling backward in a pin against his skull, his eyes had closed themselves for a moment as his jaws opened obnoxiously wide to permit the escape of a pitched yawn before shivering out the awakened adrenaline that now accompanied him. Sorcier had lain himself under the shelter of a large tree, to which species he was not entirely sure since they were not from his homeland. The last thing the male wanted was to intrude on someone’s den, even if it meant that the result would be that his pelt would pay the price. The morning dew had beaded up at the surface after it had saturated through the layer upon layer of matted locks that his coat had presented. At the moment, Sorcier wasn’t much of a charming sight, as he looked more rogue and unkempt than he would have preferred. I suppose one should be grateful to not have company last night.. The sarcastic thought fluttered in his mind for a bit as he craned his head downward to stroke his velvet tongue along the length of his forelegs down to the paw, to collect up the beads of water that became a bit of a sore sight for him. Once he could groom himself as much as he could at his lain position, his paws had sunk into the softened earth as his weight was being brought to all of his limbs and once stepping into a stance that would firmly root him to the ground as much as possible, a vicious tossing of his body from the rocking of his haunches aired out his pelt as much as it possibly could, flinging droplets of water in every which way direction. Of course, once the motion had settled, the wolf looked like a giant tumbleweed of lupine fur. Another heavy sigh had escaped from his captivating lungs knowing that making a good first impression was slowly proving to be much more difficult than he imagined it would. Resting his weight on his rear haunches, the male continued to groom himself as the scattered memory manifested within the imprisonment of his skull. The memory of when Elder had come across him. Sorcier was a runt, only to have his survival further hindered by the spread of some unknown plague that had claimed his pack, but not him. Of course, the sight of a pup is never overlooked no matter what they occasion, so then, it was much easier to be accepted by pretty much anything—an Elder, a wolf of past litters, or someone looking for an easy meal. As quickly as the memory came, it fled without so much of a warning, just as the fire-eyed male had turned his sights back to the morning star. The warmth that it had brought to him began to expel the remaining moisture that he failed to rid himself of, and just like that—his morning routine was finished. Now, he just awaited for that independent variable to come in and set this morning apart from the countless others that he had spent, alone, for the past few months of his life.
