The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

The past couple of days had been a complete whirl to the male, it was as if he was in a daydream. Especially with the way his mind always seemed to steer off into directions based off of one thought that would eventually become a million others. After the encounter with Alias and Sen, Sorcier was beyond thrilled to be a part of Taviora and it’s kin, yet there was still that small piece of him that wanted to explore even further. At least now he had the comforting thought that he could now return somewhere for the night, a place that he could call his own.

His gait was kept at a casual walk, allowing the padding of his paws to soak up the ground beneath him in this region. It was much different than at Taviora, where the grass was plush and gentle to his paws. Here, where ever the male had ventured off to, it was growing more rough, more solid with each step that he had took. After a certain point, the talons protruding from his toes began to rake against the rocky terrain which caused his gaze to cast itself to the ground. Halting his walk, the fire-eyed wolf had stared for a long while, his thoughts seizing the better of him once more.

Now what? The question still lingered in his head from earlier, because he never even began as to so much even think about what he would do after he had been accepted into the pack. The situation was overwhelming in a manner, because surely there was a multiple number of things that he could do—but why couldn’t he think of ust one? Well, he did think of one so he gave himself a little bit of credit even though it wasn’t that deep of a thought. Shaking his head to clear the boggled mind of his, just as he was about to take another step forward, the ground beneath him had shook.

It didn’t just shake, it trembled as if the weight of the wolf was just too much for the ground to bare and thus, could no longer support him. He could hear the ground groaning from beneath him and several rocks tumble to the ground, and just as the shaking grew worse, Sorcier had lept and bound his course to the first shelter in his site—a crag of some sort. He had never seen anything like this structure before but it seemed to be holding its own while the earth beneath them continued its fit, so it appeared safe in his eyes. Just as his amber paws had touched down on the cold and wet rock from inside the cavern, the shaking had stopped.

The sound of an echoing crash, like rocks and pebbles being shifted or tumbling to the floor, had caused the male’s ear to perk, twitching at the sounds as they rung in his ears for a moment. With a gentle sigh pushing out from his nostrils, the wolf turned to venture further off into the cave but was immediately stopped in his tracks.

The sight of another wolf was plain as day before him. The wolf was much smaller than he was and by the looks of her, was also much younger than he by several seasons. Her pelt held some of the same colours much like his own, but their variations were much different. He couldn’t help but wonder if she was here for the same reasons that he was, for the sudden disturbance of the world, but then it also dawned upon him that he may be intruding. Taking cared notice of the unsettling nature of her eyes, as of distress or some concern, the male kept his head held low as to not intimidate the girl.. and with a small step forward with but a paw, his tone was gentle, it was kind, but most importantly, it was seeking understanding.

“I.. am sorry if I have intruded. My name is Sorcier, I was simply seeking shelter from the tremors of the earth.. may I ask what your name is?”
