News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

It took not so long, for the first wolf to arrive upon the scene. But his was not a face to be first expected. No, this was a wolf not yet properly introduced, and though I’ve detected his scent and spied him transpiring with a few of our more well-known members, I was fairly certain he had yet to be formerly initiated into the pack. Still, I welcomed his presence with a soft, if not exhausted smile and nodded my head to encourage he come forward.
”Merry…Meet…Nootau” I speak in friendly greeting, though I must indulge in an inhale of oxygen between each word as I fought to catch my breath. ”I wish…it could have been… under better circumstances…” I settle to my haunches, no longer able to fight the screaming of sore muscle and torn tendons. It had been a kind gesture, for him to offer me his aide despite his lack of knowledge in the healing arts, but I shake my skull politely. ”Niviaq, our Healer will hopefully arrive soon, but I appreciate the offer.”
Taliesin appears on the scene then, a vivid copper flame against the sparkling snow. I can sense his distress, see the displeasure and duress in his eyes when mine raise to meet his forest gaze. But I am too worn to form any kind of apology at the moment, for the misgivings I seem to have a knack for accumulating within the heart of the young man. My eyes are dulled in the aftermath of battle, and inside I hide the hurt that his unhappiness imbues. It might be subtle, but I can feel it permeating off him in waves, as my sensitive Shaman nature delicately picks up and the vibes of anger rolling off of him. But I force a bit of spark into them as I cast the lad a rueful smile, ”Well, I’m not all in one piece, but I made it just the same.”
And then Alcide is there, placing a paternal touch upon Taliesin, it makes me happy, to know at least one of us has spurned a bond with the boy. Then he comes without so much as a hitch in his step, circling my figure and making a thorough scan before stepping up beside me and placing a tender lick upon my cheek. I return the kiss with a little lick of my own to his muzzle, though mine lack so much enthusiasm due to my current condition. I sigh as he cleanses the blood from my vision, and I lean into his comforting touch. I close my eye, as the wound scouring it throbs with pain renewed, but it was a necessary hurt, and after a moment I could see a little clearer albeit I had to wince.
Then another alabaster figure appear, carmine liquid blooming like roses across her visage, and a lump grew in my throat as I felt the horror of the vulgarity I had inflicted. ”Snowshoe…” I exclaimed breathlessly, standing once again and moving to her without hesitation. ”I am so sorry, dear one.” I speak, genuinely apologetic as much as concerned. I had no reason to inspect her injuries, for I knew nearly as intimately as she how they’d come to be. I drew up alongside her, not as an alpha but as a friend and a healer, extending my muzzle to clean the wounds along her neck, the very same I had placed there myself only hours before. My own were momentarily forgotten, as the need to provide and protect overwhelmed the need for Self Preservation, and after rigorously lapping away the blood that still flowed, I took pause to speak to her. ”I am so pleased to see you’ve come back. I feared you would not after all that has happened.”
My brows furrowed then, my lips drawing a thin line, but not directed at the snowy girl before me. ”I am sorry that I have neglected you Snowshoe, I have neglected the whole mountain and from this moment I will do my utmost to rectify that. “ I nodded my head firmly and turned to Taliesin.
”Taliesin? Would you please call for Niviaq… I believe Snowshoe and I are both in need of her services.” I bid of him gently. Then I glanced back to Alcide and Nootau. ”My Beloved, Nootau, would you please assist us to my Den? I believe I still have some poultices and herbs cached away there, I will see to Snowshoe’s treatment myself until Niviaq arrives.”
