Danny was paying attention more to Thoth's words and actions than the person himself, but in a peripheral sense knew he was making Thoth uncomfortable with his actions. Some people, like Dr. Gupta, were capable of remembering things by watching or doing them, for Danny, the best way for him to remember something was to write it down. Even if he later lost the notes he took, the action of physically writing something out seemed to do the trick. Danny's primary focus was definitely the healing of his fellow fairies, and he would work hard to reach that goal, but he also wanted to help animals too if he could.

Danny could tell that Thoth wasn't sure about his ability to care for General, and tried not to let it get him too down. He wanted to help the bird on his own, sure, but he also wanted to make sure she would heal properly. If Thoth thought he should leave General in his capable hands, he would do it. Though, Thoth would likely have had to expect Danny showing up to check on her pretty regularly.

Thoth seemed willing to give him advice, though, and Danny thought over what he advised thoroughly before nodding. "I think I can handle that," he said, trying to sound confident, just as Thoth was picking up General and gesturing him towards the door. Danny and Sol filed out, the tiger lazily plodding along, and Danny waved farewell to Junebell. Danny blinked at the assortment of items Thoth had managed to fill his pockets with, but was more interested than anything else. His own pockets were often full of medicinal plants, sometimes with roots and dirt clumps still attached, first aid kits, and notepads these days.

"Where are we going?" Danny asked, keeping up with Thoth. It wasn't as difficult as it usually was for Danny, since Thoth was smaller for his age and had a comparable stride. When Thoth asked about Doctor Gupta, Danny paused a moment to think before trading a thoughtful glance with Sol. "I can't remember, but he must've. Or maybe it was one of the guards? Sol was the one to mention you when we first found General."

"Pretty sure Gupta mentioned it," the familiar chipped in, speaking aloud for the first time. "Else how would we have known?"
