At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

wolf

So the vixen made her way through the thick snow. It was cold, the dullness of the sky always effecting the girl’s mood. Macartni raised a brow as a large wind blew a mess of snow into her face. The vixen stopped, her eyes closed as the bottom of her jaw went forward in annoyance. She opened her eyes and shook out her pelt as she continued to move forward into the day. It seemed like her den was even, a small length of area not much to go off of. Yet it surprised her. Hard work and effort had gone into getting sand away from the small hole she called the entrance of the little clearing. Another wolf had slowed her down, however; Lady was her name. Of course it was. How could a wolf named Lady not be spick and span in every way, shape, or form? That’s right. There was none. Even so, the girl felt obliged to actually do something with the den, perhaps give half of it to her or share it. Macartni could hardly believe her reasoning as it would be a long life if she shared a den with someone. Which was why she was in no way ready to join a pack or let alone be in a relationship. Absolutely not. There were better things in the world than to be tied down by one of these circumstances. There were sights to see, seasons to explore, weather to avoid. And yet, Macartni did not want to face those challenges of everyday with someone else. The life of a loner was holding well against her.

Despite where her thoughts were leading her, the snow bordering the blistering cold water had withheld the weight of her forelegs. The greyness of the clouds made the girl’s mind wander towards self preservation and the thoughts of taking a small dip of relaxation. Perhaps she would go on a hunt later. Yes, that seemed awfully nice. It had been weeks since the varg had exercised, let alone hunt down a meal. It seemed nice, to have something under her ivories that did not have the stink or feel of fish. That was what normally got her by, and she rarely changed. Yes, a hunt would be out on her list of what to do when some of the snow melted. Conditions would have to be right. The vixen sat down in the cold flakes of the snow, and looked out over the water kissing the edges of the shore. Sand was dark near the water, as snow would never last long enough to keep away the water. It seemed that liquid almost had the power over everything. Except ice.

Before long, the girl tasted another scent on the breeze. It was a male, by the way Macartni could tell. Go away. Keep walking. Go away. But instead, the boy came up to her with a gleam in the pit of his words. The daggers in her mouth grinded. “Oh, why hello there. You look lonely.” Lonely? Oh how Macartni loathed that word. It was distasteful, every single syllable of it. The thought almost sent a growl through her throat. But she withheld her immediate reactions. “Actually, no. Just because I’m alone, doesn’t mean I’m lonely.” Deep down, even if the girl realized it or not, she didn’t mean a lot of her sarcasm. It was just sent from her vocals to tide her usual annoyance over with a laugh. That was all. She heard the brute sit down into the snow, and Macartni almost sighed. But yet again, she withheld her immediate reactions. “Sure, of course. You can sit with me.” Her words only turned into a mumble, and she would be surprised if the boy actually heard her. But for the moment, she didn’t care, as the cold liquid of the lake didn’t seem so bad anymore.
