Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

The girl was happy that spring had come, happy that the warm weather had returned along with the many plants that she helped collect for her mother and the other healers of the pack . Healing was boring… very boring yet she still enjoyed the fact that with her job she was allowed to go out of the lands. Not far, just to the woodland outside of Taviora but it made her happy just to get out once in a while. She wasn’t collecting herbs though; no she was more out for the hunting aspect of it, off to see what she could catch to show her father that she could be as good as the older kids. She would catch something, a hare, a squirrel something to show him that she was good at hunting. Though she hadn’t had an official lesson with the True Arrow, Zeteri, because of her pups and her problems having them. Having Moth for a mother made her have a good understanding of what kind of toll it took on them. The russet and brown girl didn’t understand fully seeing she was only a year old, but enough that she knew to try and be patient with the wolfess.

For now she would see what she could round up on her own though, catch something bring it back to maybe the True Arrow. That way she doesn’t have to worry so much about it. That Zelly was aware of she didn’t have someone like her own daddy did to her mother, so she was certain it would help. Her little tail waved as the little girl slowed her pace. She blended in well with the woodland environment her small body from her youth helping her travel through the brush with ease. She honestly thought despite her being about half of her height, she was better suited for this than her father despite his experience.

She soon found an area where she could sit and wait, a walnut tree and she was certain one of the scurrying bushy tailed critters would come her way in no time! Yeah… No time. Patience wasn’t her strong point but she settled herself low in the leaf litter of the previous autumn. Zeltzin settled herself in for the long haul, ears poised and listening for her prey to come down and feast on the fallen nuts. She had learned to hunt where they eat from her father during the fall lessons. She was happy with this, but he hadn’t shown her to take down anything larger than a hare and even then the things fought like nothing else against her.

The dark early morning soon grew light and the song birds filled the woods with their music, waking the other forest animals. Good, it was almost time for her to get something. The girl shifted she could hear them chattering in the trees, and soon she saw one slowly come down, cautious of the forest floor. As it should be. Her bright fiery eyes watching it as it made its way closer and closer, then it started skirting back up the tree. Wait! No fair! She didn’t move! She know she didn’t why did it run!? She sat up in her annoyance only spurring the little creature to move faster up the tree trunk sending out little alarm calls to its neighbors.

(‘Jerk!’) The little girl barked in her father’s native Nahuatl tongue sticking her tongue out at it before stalking away angrily. All that time wasted, she turned and went around the tree only to see a hulking white form. Old Man Hey? What was he doing out here again Zeltzin was quite certain he had enough of the forest lands after her, her brother and mother all got on his nerves. Her little black nose twitched taking in his scent, it smelled like Diveen but the individual scent itself was a little different? Iron tainted the fur, blood. She shuddered remembering what the strange wolfess had said about how Heyel had built a kingdom of blood. Was she right?

She didn’t dare approach, he seemed different somehow but he looked just like him! She was sure it was him! Heyel! He didn’t seem bad? Right? She took a tentative step forward and then saw some other wolf charging towards him like a bat out of hell.

”Heyel! Look out!” She said listing to the snarls come from the female’s maw, she knew him right? She knew he was grumpy and mean but she didn’t want to see anyone hurt. Her heart pounded heavily fear in her eyes as she watched from a distance. She knew she could do little to help him but if he made a kingdom of blood and was the ‘King of Moladion’ he would be fine right?
