Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

There are a Few Warriors Among Us

_________________________________________________________________________

The black wolf really was fine, hungry and tired, but he was fine. He had not gotten into any trouble when he became separated from his brother and their companions, had not run into any scary beasts or monsters. His brother always worried too much about it, Kili knew how to fight, and Fili should know that. The two had trained together as pups and teens together under Thorin, and Kili knew that both could hold their own in a fight. Things could get out of hand he knew, and sometimes they did as he had witnessed before, but Kili would never run away with his tail tucked, he’d rather die than have that shame carried with him. “Gee, where’ve I heard that one before?” Fili was being sarcastic and Kili could tell, he knew his brother inside and out. With a mocking growl the black male shoved against his brother, potentially initiating a play fight like they had so often done as pups. Even though the two were full grown adults now, Kili still had a very playful side to him, always ready to jump into a game or some sort of adventure. With childish thoughts in mind he pushed into his larger, older brother, playfully nipping at his brother to see if he could antagonize him.

After the pair calmed down Fili went back to interrogating his brother, being over protective as usual and Kili rolled his chocolate brown eyes at his brother, knowing that his twin meant well, as annoying and overbearing as it was. Fili returned with a glare, and Kili held in a chuckle. He found it amusing when his brother tried to give those looks, as if he could boss the younger one around. The younger brute just smiled, letting his tongue lazily hang from his maw in a relaxed state, knowing it would irritate the older male even more, but hey, what were younger brothers for? When he finally decided to respond to the questions Fili still was not satisfied, "Technically, you didn't answer my question." Kili snorted at his brothers work, Fili hadn’t even bothered to answer any of his, and he had asked first, but he knew his brother would answer after him, always wanting to know about Kili before talking himself.

As the conversation turned to Thorin Kili could see his brother’s actions change, and he knew that something was upsetting the older brujo. He knew that Thorin could have a temper, but their uncle could never permanently be upset with them, they were family and KIli knew that Thorin greatly valued family. “Ya.” Was the only thing that Fili said as he looked away and Kili sighed, knowing that once his brother got into a mood like this nothing would shake him until he was ready to get over whatever thoughts were swimming through his thick skull. Ah, lighten up Fili. We’ll just go back, apologize, give him our sweet puppy dog eyes and everything will be good again. He needs us and we all know that.” The brute spoke lightly, hoping to ease his brother’s nerves about meeting up with Thorin and the rest of the gang.

The raven hued brujo knew his brother was not calmed down with his next words, mumbled quietly but Kili still picked up on them, "We could always just run home and get on with our lives." His ears perked up at those words, eyes widening, surprised at his brother. The thought had never even crossed his mind, knowing what Thorin and the rest were fighting for and he knew he was needed in the quest. They were fighting for their home, the old mountain where they all used to live, before so many of them had been brutally killed. ”You don’t mean that, do you?” Kili would always choose his brother over anything else, and if his brother was going to leave the group then so was he, but he didn’t want to. He hoped his brother didn’t mean those words, and that he was just saying it since he didn’t want to go back and face Thorin. He knew his brother was no coward and that he would come to his senses and they would eventually meet back up with the group, ready to take on the challenges of fighting tooth and claw for their true home in the mountain.

As the two settled down for the night Kili curled into his brother, feeling safe and secure again now that he was not sleeping alone. The twins always slept together, had since they were born, and Kili suspected they would always be that way. They were stuck together like glue and nothing would ever separate them. He instantly feel into a deep sleep, drifting off, not even dreaming he was so tired. He never slept well when he was not with his brother, he always had to be more alert to what was around him, he wasn’t safe when he was without his twin.

Kili was lucky he fell into such a deep sleep as his brother was so restless, hitting him throughout the night with the nightmares that plagued him. When Fili left the den Kili didn’t wake. Normally his brother getting up would wake him, but the lack of sleep and stress left him exhausted, and his slumber continued. The black brute only woke when his brother forced him awake, the younger brother growling lightly in annoyance at being forced awake, “Wake up princess. The sun’s almost up.” Kili grumbled as he pulled himself up, letting out a yawn as he did so. He could gladly sleep all day, letting his aching body get back to normal. He stretched, waking his muscles up in hopes to get his brain going too. The smell of fresh meat woke him up much faster than anything else, ears raising and tail wagging in excitement. He had not eaten in a few days, and he was very hungry. ”Thanks bro!” he exclaimed excitedly, eager for the food. He leapt into the food, glad to see his brother had been successful enough to get enough for each of them to have a rabbit to themselves. He tore hungrily into the food, perking up instantly once he had some food in his belly. ”So what’s the agenda for today?” He sat back when he was done eating, licking his now bloody maw.
