Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

She can't lie and pretend that she is used to the ... friendly greeting that she received. In fact, it brought an almost baffled, quizzical expression to her face as the strange woman spoke, though she attempted to hide it well enough. She was used to the brasher side of Moladion, wolves that were interested in two things: power, or at least feigning it. Que Azrael, and even Letum, who had been chasing after that dream while trying to trample on her since the day she had been. To have one speak so... kindly, and so openly? Hah! It was almost unheard of but... not bad to hear. In fact, it almost brought a s mall smile to her features, a cock of her brow as she passed the field another quick glance. She supposed it was beautiful... sort of. She'd seen prettier things.

"We call it Moladion, though home also suffices."

She paused for a moment, once more considering the world around them before she met the other's gaze levelly, able to notice their brightness even at her current distance. They were... hard to forget, she imagined.

"But sadly, beauty doesn't deter danger."

She shrugged her comment off, though her mind flashed with the image of Tobias, or even Jaidah prowling in the night like a ghost. Truth was, she was a ghost now - dead, perhaps - but always alive in the minds of those with less kind intent. Iromar had been more active lately, she thought to herself (frowning ever so slightly), and she couldn't help but sniff at the air wearily. So far, it seemed they were still alone which was good. Some part of her hoped her affiliation with Heyel and his lot wouldn't bring the stranger danger, though she couldn't exactly make that promise. For now, though, she simply would remain alert. Since her trip to Taviora, she had found herself falling back into her old duties and routines - she was supposed to protect others from those who were less kindred, and the stranger was new, unaware (she assumed) of the potential threats. Really, she was a prime candidate to be prey and thus, Malina deemed her duty appropriate. Plus, who could say to no to friendly company? Even she couldn't.

She took a cautious step back as the girl rose, giving her more breathing space with a dip of her skull and a flash of a sheepish grin. Had she gotten too close? She hadn't really meant to. In fact, most social tact was lost on her - she'd never really been taught it. She was either too close or too far away, too quiet or too loud, or just generally too anything really.

"Malina, my name's Malina."

She corrected the woman gently, flashing her yet another semi-nervous grin before continuing, her paws a little restless beneath her. Suddenly, she felt like she was under inspection and she didn't... like that, not at all. That was her job. So, she did so back for a moment, being careful as to not give it away. The other was much like herself - small and lithe, and she could not help but wonder who would be better off if some altercation were to happen. It was just natural thought for her, though she never acted upon it. No, she was not a violent creature. She had been raised to be, but she had never been one. Besides, the woman did not seem like a monster who ate the flesh of their own kind and that was a good. She practically sighed in relief.

"As for why I'm out... well, the pack got a little too busy for my liking. Children and whatnot, so I needed a break. It's not often you get down time."

She stifled a chuckle, attempting to lift the tension that lingered in the air, the tension that she imagined radiated from the both of them. She tilted her head once more, waving her tail slowly once more with more of an emphasis on friendliness (or so she hoped!). She had this, right? She could totally make friends. Yeah... she'd try at least.

"What of you? Surely it's not just the beauty that has you sleeping and wandering about out here."
