 Fundamental Fundamental knew he would not be getting a warm welcome, but the aggression in stallion as he approached and made his demands was enough to waver Fundamental’s new resolve. Taking a step back his ears threatened to pin at the trapped feeling he got but he forced them to remain forward as he dipped his head lower than the golden man’s to show his submission. He had not been given time to hand over any explanation for himself when the mare came up beside the leader, demanding things of him as well. She looked more threatening than the storm but logic concluded within him that she could wait. The stallion needed an answer first and only after would he answer the mare on the whereabouts Satitba was. “My name is Fundamental and I had no plans to take what is yours.” He said, raising his voice against the howling wind and crack of thunder as he turned his gaze back to the stallion. “I came here in the calm before the storm for easy travel in hopes that I could speak to one of the territory owning stallions here. I did not know the storm would be this strong or I would have waited.” Fundamental explained before carrying on. “I have a family in the Crossing and that is no place to raise foals. They are in need of a home and I was hoping I could find them one here.” Deciding that was enough to give the stallion some peace that Fundamental was not a threat, he glanced to the awaiting mare. “I met Satitba on the Crossing but it has been a few seasons since then and I’m not sure where she has gone.” It was the truth, but the girl’s accent had stuck out strongly in his mind, enough that he recognized the resemblance in this mare’s too. “Please, I’ll do whatever you wish for me to do if only you give my family a place to call home.” Fundamental said. He would not beg, he would only ask for this stallion’s mercy once and would not ask again. |
