The brute was finally able to relax now that Cora and himself were safely hidden within the caverns from the treacherous storm that was still raging outside. His yellow orbs kept drifting towards the ess besides him, making sure she was truly okay after their ordeal. When she seemed to relax after a few moments Summer padded over, nervous with his next action. He plucked up the courage to finally make contact with the pretty fae, his body lined up next to hers and he breathed a sigh of relief when he felt her relax against him. The brute was not sure how she would react to his touch, and he was glad that she did not shy away from him. He did not have any experience with females and this was all very new to him, but he enjoyed being around Cora and wanted to stay within her company.

The smoky brute spoke next, words dying out quickly with his nerves. He spoke true words, but kept most of his feelings still hidden within. He had no idea what the female was thinking, and he was afraid to voice his feelings and be rejected. For now he would keep his thoughts to himself, and see where their conversation went, if Cora didn’t leave him now that is. He was glad to see that with his words she smiled, her emerald orbs meeting his yellow ones and instantly a smile appeared on his kissers. Her lyrics reached his ears as she opened her maw to speak, “Oh please. Surely a brute like you would forget about me and find another girl worthy of your attention. I imagine it would be easy for you.” Her words shocked him but what shocked him even more was when she closed the distance that Summer had put between them after he spoke. He felt her warmth spread through him as she leaned against his shoulder. A breeze ruffled their pelts as it blew in from the entrance of the caves, and Summer wrapped his plume around Cora, hoping to keep her warm and close to him.

The brute spoke again as he leaned into Cora, enjoying the warmth that he felt by her presence being so close to him, ”I don’t know what you mean Cora. You are the first I have had…feelings like this about.” He hesitated to speak the words out loud, worried that it would bother her and that she would just leave him, but he did not want to lie to her or brush off her words. ”I do not want to forget about you. I have no interest in finding another girl; besides no other girl would be as pretty as you. I enjoy your company Cora, and being around you makes me happy.” He spoke softly to her, pulling her closer to him as he spoke to show that he meant every word he said. He held his breath when he felt Cora move next to him, resting her head under his chin, sighing while she did so. He leaned his head against hers, happy that she was the type to enjoy his touch as he enjoyed hers.

Summer kept Cora’s creamy bodice next to him, his head resting on her neck in a comfortable embrace. He could feel her smile underneath him, and nuzzled his face into her thick fur as she spoke “So, Summer. Tell me a little about yourself.” He lifted his head from her fur so he could speak not remembering how much he had told her before when they met in the meadow, and decided to just speak as if Cora knew nothing about him, hoping he was not repeating himself too much, ”Well, I was born into a royal family that led the other lupines in my home pack. I have two sisters, two brothers, and a half-brother. We were all very close when I was younger, but we were all separated. Massacres were happening to my pack and others around us, war raging between the packs of royal blood. My family tried to defend some of the smaller packs, my mother and oldest brother leaving to try and help while my father took my two sisters to protect them. I was left with my youngest brother while my half-brother left to fight as well. I don’t know what happened to any of them, my brother was separated from me and I have not seen any of them since. I worry about them often, but I don’t know what else I can do.” His words stopped abruptly, shaking slightly as he spoke, trying not to let himself get too emotional around the ess beside him. Summer had only told this story to one other, Darcia his alpha. He still got emotional thinking of his family, blaming himself for losing his youngest brother. He didn’t mean for the conversation to head in an unhappy direction, but he felt comfortable with Cora and the words tumbled from his maw before he could stop them. The brute leaned into the creamy fae, glad for the close contact while he spoke of his family. He whispered softly into her ear after he finished speaking, ”How about you Cora? What of yourself?” He was not expecting her to get as personal as he did if she did not want to, but he hoped that she trusted him enough to share her story with him.
