Oh,no,I am a klepto! I had no idea I am in possession of "THE BOOK" !!! I watched some people file out with what I thought was a free pamphlet about the discussion so I went to the table and grabbed one at the same time I met Bo. Dug it out of my purse to look at over morning coffee and lo and behold I found a treasure trove! Wonderful book that I thoroughly enjoyed and was so sad when it ended - I wanted the accounts to go on forever! It brings you back in time and I was thoroughly enthralled with some of the old fashioned terms and names of places. It's truly stepping back in history! My father grew up hunting and trapping as a necessity to help provide for his family of parents and siblings. I will never forget when he was building a new house for us and the basement was still partially open because two huge floor to ceiling windows had not yet been installed. As the family got to the bottom of the basement stairs I started to run forward to pet a beautiful "kitty" (I was 6ish)and my father grabbed me saying "NO - that's a Bobcat"!It had a wild look and was so beautiful, I can only imagine how those fortunate enough to see a Mountain Lion outside of a zoo must feel! The memory is very vivid to this day.Now...the question remains....where do I send my $5. to make an honest woman out of me?!? The historical society? If I don't hear anything I will call the very nice lady at the historical society Monday morning to inquire.Anyone who hasn't read it, get yourself one - well worth the read.
