It's true, we're all a little insane. Kharress Kharress stalked along the banks of the only river in the area. She was far too lazy to go anywhere else to get a drink or bathe, and to top it off her choices were limited anyway. There were only a few small lakes around, and a grand waterfall, but all of them were too close to enemy pack lines for her to dare approach. She was new to Munashii Gekko and her first meeting with King Serris hadn't gone as smoothly as she had planned. He was on edge with her, as he should be, but as a result she hadn't been able to dig her claws in deep enough yet to have even a smidgen of control. Kha huffed her annoyance. Soon enough he would trust her, soon enough she'd gain back her rightful rank. She had the potential, the experience, the determination - now all she needed was an opportunity And a little love. Shut up. She snapped maliciously to herself. That little voice in her head had been more persistent that usual. Always pointing out potential mates everywhere she went. Her heart still ached dull and true for Thorin, but she knew their days were long since over. It had been two years since she had really held his heart and just over a year since she had last seen him. She was young and stupid back then, naive if anything. She had taken on too much too quick. Once she lost her adopted daughter, her adopted son soon followed and then she was separated from her mate and that was that. It was a year before she found him again under dangerous pretenses and sent him away for his own good. Maybe it really was time to move on. Of course it is. This time Kha only dropped her head and tail low. She couldn't fight the demons in her mind, they always knew what was the right thing to do even if it wasn't the best thing for her. Her heart knew the best thing to do, but it hadn't spoken a single word to her in over a year. Kha was so lost in her inner musings that she almost missed the brute laying a few feet in front of her. It was almost too late for her to react, her system sluggish, and she damn near stepped on him as she rounded the corner. Almost immediately her mind began to override her body, she knew it would take control and make her say the things it wanted her to. She was like a robot, or maybe more of a puppet. I'm sorry, I didn't see you there with all that sand on your coat, you nearly blend in entirely. The tiniest of smiles drew up her lips as she let out a small, empty chuckle from her maw. Her bright blue orbs connected with deep, brown ones and instantly her heart sank as images of Thorin flashed before her eyes. She averted her gaze quickly and wondered if maybe it would be better to keep walking.
