The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

( So I'm thinking the reference is Denali asking if she can come down and join him and it'll only take a second? Am I right :)?)
If only someone loved her then she would not be in this predicament. Enderly doesn't know what has happened in Denali's past nor why she has slunk into this cave. It drives him. The question continues to burrow beneath his skin, deeper and deeper until all his thoughts revolve around situations that have driven her to this point. Denali is not even standoffish. Nothing she has done would raise questions in another wolf but he has had much time to sit and ponder the world and those within it. He can tell the guarded look within her eyes. Enderly, of course, does not know everything. He cannot tell whether the female is agitated at his continued presence. Despite how exhaustively his silver eyes search Denali is good at hiding her expressions.

But she wasn't playing into his games. Not really. He expected her to huff and even to growl a little at his pronouncement. Maybe threaten him with a good tearing into if he didn't leave her in peace. Instead she just dismisses him as if she hasn't a care in the world. Which is quite opposite what he believes is going on in her head. His expression deadpans. Enderly refrains from frowning at her in disappointment, hiding behind his own indifferent facade. Now now little girl, don't go disappointing the silver-tongue, slicked back male.

Truly he was surprised when she turned from him to offer up her game. But it is a quick flash of his eyes at her turned back that reveals this before he is once more the grinning fool as before. Well at least he would get a good meal out of this escapade. Enderly watches the rabbits body twist in the air before slapping on the dirty ground. He reaches out one large paw and presses inward so his claws catch ahold of the skin then drags it towards him all in a lazy manner while licking his lips. Nothing like pestering a stray female to work up an appetite.

Before he tears into the cooled meat his ears catch her off-hand words and his gaze shifts. So she has come down from her perch at last! Eagerness is within him and his tail swishes. Oh yes, this would be fun! Denali is still wary of him, laying at a distance, but Enderly doesn't mind. Instead he reaches down with his maw, snaps up the rabbit, and pads over to her knowing it would make her uncomfortable. Then he lays down facing right at her with his paws only a few inches from her own. "It is kind of you to share, Denali. Since this is your prize, would you like first pick?"

He leans his maw forward so the rabbit lays across both of their paws.

enderly.
