Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

They were here hiding somewhere in the shadows of the moonless night. Iblis couldn't see then, nor could he hear or smell them, but he could sense them. The overwhelming aura that seemed to creep from the trees made the fur along Iblis' spine prickle. Keeping to his act, the scarred warrior prepared himself for any attack that might come. The river was close by bubbling softly as the last of the winter snow melted from the mountain tops. It would have been a beautiful night if it wasn't for the metallic scent of blood in the air and the dark shadows hovering within the trees. Iblis watched watch one carefully, wondering if it was the shadow of the monsters who preyed upon the weak. He was ready for them. They would know the wrath of a father hell bent on revenge and a warrior who never backed down from a fight. The lone wolf didn't think about the fact that he was outmatched and outsized. He didn't think about his wounds or that his empty stomach had made him slightly weaker. All he wanted was blood. And it seemed he would finally get it.

Like the smoke of a flame, she appeared before him. It was as if she had simply risen from the ground to suffocate all in her path. The witch says nothing but she bares her fangs and allows a growl to ooze from her maw. Eyes of blood watch Iblis carefully as she takes each step carefully towards him. The smaller males smiled and lowered his injured paw to the ground, ignoring the sting. Before him was his daughter's attacker, the wolf who he had really been seeking. Tobias was just an added bonus. But she... she was the prize. Iblis had spoken to Ruvindra briefly about Gaia's attack and she had told him of the demoness of white and ash. There was no mistake this was her and surely Tobias would be somewhere nearby. Iblis was no fool. Fifteen years of life as a loner had made him wise in the art of combat and survival. He knew what Flare was planning and he was going to fall right into their trap if only to have both wolves suffer the wrath of his fangs.

He had expected the black wolf of hell to burst from the trees like the monster he was, roaring and slashing his teeth and claws. Perhaps he was a little disappointed at the sound of paw steps casually stepping across the melting snow as Tobias formed from the very shadows that surrounded him. Slowly, Iblis turned around to face his mortal enemy. A wolf of the blackest night with eyes of venom and bile. He seemed to be... average looking which bothered Iblis more. The demon he saw in his mind was a vile, ugly beast with half a face and covered in blood. No wonder so many had fallen victim to him. If they didn't know, couldn't see that danger that was in his eyes, they would assume him to be just another wolf. Luckily, Iblis knew better.

Without saying a word, he bowed his head to Tobias and returned his attention to Flare, leaving his back completely exposed to Tobias. But not for too long. Without any warning, he lunged at the female with the speed he was known for. His paw did not hurt. His stomach was no groaning for food. The wonderful high that comes with a sudden rush of adrenaline had consumed Iblis and for a moment he was invincible. He would make her bleed the way she had made his daughter bleed. She would fear like Gaia had. And, if he had his way, she would die for what she did to his child. Iblis bolted at Flare head on, hoping to make her think he was going for her throat, but at the last second he side stepped and aimed for her back leg. He wanted to crush her ligaments and hinder her movement. If he landed a hit, he would bite down hard using the momentum of his run to dig his teeth further into her flesh. Then he would bolt away and veer around to attack her again, this time aiming for her other back leg. If he could make it difficult for her to move this fight would go a little easier for him.

Keep moving. Keep dodging. Avoid their teeth. Make them hurt. Make them know the same fear they have made so many others feel. Iblis didn't know that his life may end this night and in the mind state he was in, he couldn't really care. The blood rage had taken him and all he wanted now was his enemies lying dead at his paws. For now, Iblis' attention was drawn to Flare but he was always aware of Tobias and he would be ready should the black prince attack.

((Thank you guys so much for your patience and I am so sorry it took so long to write this. Feel free to use any power play you feel would be necessary. Obviously I don't want Iblis to die, but you can punch him around a bit if you want.))
