The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

After she ran into the rock and then managed to leap onto the first step, she heard his voice yelling into the air. Athene, please. Not again, not again. I’m here! Just as she jumped from one stair to the next, she felt a rush of air and then his form brush against hers, his larger form scaling the slope easier than she could. Though he barely hit her, it was enough so to push her slightly off course. Once more she rammed against a stair, her front claws scratching at the surface of the step, grasping for something, anything to get ahold of. But she was slipping, falling. A whine and gasp escaped her lips and she nearly screamed but then her claws caught in a crack and without wasting any time she scrambled and pulled her bodice up. The sound of the brute jumping from step to step resounded in her auds and suddenly it went completely and utterly quiet. She paused enough til she could see the outline of the next step and jumped, trying to not imagine falling to her doom in the abyss beneath the steps.

And so she went form step to step – waiting til she saw the next, accessing the distance, and then making a leap of faith, and all she could think of was how much more swiftly Athene much have made the ascent. She was so swift, so graceful – this obstacle would have been as easy as a leisurely stroll through a meadow for her sister. But for Hellene, it was a potentially lethal situation. She was clumsy and tended to rush. It was fear for her life, fear for the disappearance of her sister, and fear for the breaking of her brother’s heart that she took her time. For though they had no time to waste, Hellene had her life to lose, and it was too precious a thing for her risk losing, especially because of the two little ones who awaited her return back home in Aurora Borealis. When she neared the top, the last leap was perhaps the hardest for suddenly she was blinded a pinprick of a light. Next to her stood Zev, and in front of them a narrow cavern… that must lead to the outside! “Athene? Are… are you there?” Hesitantly, she spoke and then heard her voice echo throughout the cavern.

Athene braced her form against the bright sunlight, enjoying its warmth upon her pelt, willing it to sweep away the hindering feelings she felt for the brute she had left behind. It was for him that she yearned. She knew that Hellene would understand and that eventually, her sister would find her. They would be reunited one day. But not Zev – he would not find her. She intended for him to not her. Ever. For he would break her and own her soul if she continued her acquaintance with him. Acquaintance? That was not appropriate… for they had swiftly first become friends and then so much more. So, so much more. And that was why she had left. It went against everything she had been taught by her father. Feeling and emotions made her weak. For others, love was a gift. For her, it was a burden that she did not want to carry. For so long she had watched her mother yearn for her father’s affections, only to never have them returned.

But that didn’t keep Athene from yearning from the ebonero. It was so much that she yearned for him that she could almost hear his voice and his words. Her auds flattened and she turned away from the cavern that she had exited. It was time to leave… it was time to go home. But her first step was halted as she heard a voice she could never imagine to be false. Hellene’s. Athene… Don’t leave! I’m coming! Zev is coming! We are here for you! Uncertainty entered her and made her question her actions. There was no reason for her to hear her sister’s false voice… but if it were real, then Athene need to run and distance herself from Zev before it was too late. Internal turmoil wrecked havoc on her soul as she heard Zev’s voice again. Athene, please. Not again, not again. I’m here! It was the point of no return. It was now that she had to make her choice. It seemed to be long hours that she stood there, trying to decide what to do.

And within a second she knew what she must do. Zev was not like the other suitors. He had chased after her, searching for her. He loved her and… she… she loved him too. Athene… are… are you there? Her vocals escaped just once. “I confess.. I am-yes.” She didn’t know whether her whispered words would make their way down into the cavern but if Zev and Hellene’s words were real and not a figment of her imagination, she knew they would emerge eventually.
