Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Being in the safe packlands of Diveen Shiloh has been sheltered from most of Moladion's crazed creatures. Iromar was full of them or so she had heard. Still it never clicked in her brain that because of her family, pack included, she had always felt a measure of safety that at the moment was lacking in the riverside. Aviias's words seemed to open up a new train of through and her starburst eyes swing around to survey the land. Empty. There is a faint smell of wolves but it is drowned by the stench of riverwater. So far she had been safe, and besides, Nogitsune was from Iromar and she was watching over him. She, dare she say it, was his friend. No one would bother them. Oh the innocence of the youth.

The water was warm from the sun's persistant rays day in and day out. It swirled around her dark fur and gave it a sheen that normally it lacked. Shiloh stands with her feet spread apart as still as a statue while Nogitsune splashes around and Aviias as well. The dull vision of scales flashes in her vision and like a dart her head dips into the water and jaws clamp around a small fish. It wiggles violently but a fish is no match for the strength of her jaws.

By the time Shiloh lifts her head Nogistune has latched himself onto Aviias and she is dragging him into the shallows. With a satisfied expression on her face Shiloh trots towards them, eager to eat her meal. She eyes Aviias's catch for a moment. Good, not much bigger than hers. Otherwise Shiloh would have to hunt down the biggest fish in this river.

She pads to the riverside once more and lays down to tear at her fish. Scales and flesh disappear down her gullet followed by the hollow sound of bones splintering and crunching. It is tasty. With a sigh of contentment she trails back into the water, lifting one paw and slamming it into the water next to Nogitsune's head so it would splash both him and Aviias. Shiloh offers a mischevious grin - yes, these two were definitely her new friends. "Aviias... if you get chased out of a den you can come to Diveen sometime. My family will let you stay. Our dens are safe."
