Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

sorcier
four ❧ no heart ❧ lost soul ❧ taviora

The earthbound male found himself meandering off like he always did. Day after day, the male would walk about the borders of Taviora- though this was not his role in the pack, it was simply a habit. In this time of the year, many other wolves were bound to their families; their direct families, not the privileged embrace of a family that Taviora had provided as a pack. There were mothers who were no longer nursing and pups who were beginning to wean, there were yearlings who would provide supervision over the newly faces that the time of spring had provided to them. These were many things that Sorcier was not a part of, and quite frankly, it hadn’t bothered him in the slightest.

Instead, the male continued this walk—admiring these things from a comfortable distance. His presence amongst the pack was still fresh, not quite acknowledged by everyone, but these were things that time would decide upon themselves. The sights of these became more scarce as the presence of trees began to clutter the scene. Weaving about these without a rush, he’d occasionally pause beside one of these monstrosities and direct his muzzle upward, following the base of the tree until it touched the very sky above. The canopy above composed of branches and leaves that blemished some of the sunlight that tried to penetrate through was home to many of things aside from the wolves that Taviora pledged homage to—and this could be heard by the chipper tweets and sharp chirps from the birds that continued to sing in their ultimate joy.

Something broke through these calls, a call that Sorcier knew all too well. It was the call of his own kind- one that he could actually understand, unlike the conversations that the birds held. This call was one for a gathering, inviting all of Taviora—and within moments, there was another that was much sweeter than the first. These calls were very pure and rich in their tones, something that Sorcier didn’t need to struggle to hear, for they were close. Just as Sorcier began to contemplate joining in this song, another had broken through—one he could identify, almost certainly, as the Medicine Wolf, Sen. It held the soothing voice that Sorcier had first met when he approached Taviora before he was a part of their kin, and knowing that Sen would be a part of this union brought a bit of comfort to the male. So without further haste, the wolf of the earthbound pelt with the fire that lay siege on his eyes allowed his paws to carry him at a quickened and lengthened gait towards the direction that Coza’s call had sparked from. The moist earth, despite how unified they may seem, held no bearings on the timeliness that he had made his arrival.

Trotting his way over the slope and exposed to the sights of the other wolves, the fire-eyed male gathered in faces that were new, and those that were already bound in his mind. As he neared the group, his paws took to the earth in a slown stride as he made his way first to Sen. The medicine wolf appeared to have his fair share in the days that had accompanied him since they last spoke, being the arrival of his new litter with Hush. Sorcier wondered how the two were doing as they greeted the new world, though he left such curiousity for a more appropriate time. Lowering his weight onto his rear haunches, he began to take in the rest of his company. There was Coszcotl, the leader of the pack to which Sorcier has made an attempt or two to officially greet but never seemed to strike the chance just right. Then there was the black wolf with the wine-red gaze, her frame being much smaller in comparison to the males that he had taken account for thus far. Perhaps she was still growing. Then the sight of another wolf, one whose pelt struck a chord in Sorcier’s heart—it was one that belonged to the Angels. The memory of Ambrosia pooled into his brain, adding an uncertain weight to his heart, but before the wolf allowed his notorious thoughts to get the better of him, he quickly moved on to the next forms. A mother and her child—the sight brought a smile to Sorcier’s maw as he offered a small yap to the pup—one of playful intentions. The final wolf, for now, that he took in account was another female whose pelt was quite interesting in its colour. It was quite the exquisite display, however his eyes were immediately drawn to the raccoon that she released from her jaws before she introduced herself. The sight of the raccoon caused a fever in his stomach, soon realizing that it had been quite a while since he had last fed. Surely when the meeting was over, Sorcier knew he would have to make a run.

But alas, this was a time for union and Sorcier would give his utmost cooperation, patience, and best of courtesy. This was his first pack meeting, so he would give his full attention to the matters of it and whatever they may concern. So, with the reminder that he was not familiar with over half of the company before him, it only made sense that they were not familiar with himself as well. As appropriate as it was to enlighten his existence to the rest of the company, he decided it would suit better to simply wait. Surely he would introduce himself later on to the alpha, and instead waited for the others to arrive so that they surely wouldn’t miss out on one of the newer faces that Taviora sheltered.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
