The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

What was it that drew others to the cave she had just entered? What was the mystery in this new place that made the likes of good and bad come to the desolate cavernous entrance into the earth? The monolithic female moves with an unhindered grace through the darkness of the tunnels, making her way as readily as if they were her own tunnels and caves in Spirane. Dripping water and a trickling river are the only company for her echoing paw steps, nails scraping loudly against the stone floor of the cave.

Purge reclines against the hard bank of the river, watching it flow as if it had always been there. Even though she was relatsively new to Moladion, Purge still knew when something was new here. It is not until the familiar sound of paw steps echo that she is broken out of her reverie. The new female speaks as if she has known Purge all of her life, and the larger female is inclined to find something to like about the stranger.

"You are more than welcome to look, traveller, but I have not seen anything in these waters except rocks." Purge offers a smile, but little else to her, though interest certainly sparks in the now near black pink pools of her reflective eyes. "What brings you this way? Simple curiosity or a need to know what makes Moladion's heartbeat?"
