“Shhh, you have nothing to apologize for,” he whispered softly to her, placing a tender lick upon her muzzle. Curling his body into hers, he fully enveloped her, willing all of his strength to go to her through this indescribable connection that kept them together. Her words were so much more important than his. He wanted only to be here for her, to hold her up until she was ready to begin their next journey together. He watched as each wolf came to say their goodbyes, to pay their respects. Dear Haven and Idunn, they could hardly grasp the concept of what was happening to their parents. To not have the opportunity to get to know these two beautiful young girls would be his only regret in leaving Moladion on this night. Leaning forward over MoonGlow, he gently licked the top of Haven’s head, hoping to bless her with the strength he would not have the opportunity to train her for. He looked to Niviaq, bestowing a silent nod of respect to her. When Heyel, Isola, and Kane arrived, he lifted his head and slowly closed his eyes and inclined his head to each of them. They were among the greatest leaders Moladion had ever known, and Alcide was proud to have been able to call them friends. When Orca arrived, a smile pulled at his lips. It had been so long since he had seen his eldest daughter. She held her mother’s beauty and grace, and he was grateful to see her this one last time. Ceal cried at their paws, sobbing incoherently, begging of them to stay. Sleekwing spoke of guarding the mountain, and Alcide looked to his only remaining blood son. He would be forever proud of him, and hoped the young man would perhaps finally find purpose in this self appointed responsibility. Upon Daenerys’s arrival, his heart surged. MoonGlow summoned her to come before them, and she released her hugging grasp to bid her mother’s final wishes. She settled before them, lowering her head so she could be as close to them as possible, her strong physique softened by the loss she now experienced. Once MoonGlow had said her piece, Alcide said to her, “Worry not, Dany…Daenerys, you are so strong. You took care of me when I thought all was lost. Give yourself time, my girl. Only you will know when you are ready. But you are, you always have been.” MoonGlow then spoke her last words to the pack, to their friends and family. Perhaps there were words that Alcide could have said. But something held them back, a desire to allow the last inspirational words MoonGlow had spoken to resonate within them for all of eternity. The pride he felt for his family was self evident, so obvious as he looked out at his children. He met each of their gazes one last time – Sleekwing, Orca, Taliesin, Ceal, Idunn, Haven, Daenerys. Tearing his gaze away from them, her head fell against his chest and he felt the last bit of his strength go to her. He lowered his head to cradle hers. Things became hazy, distorted, and howls both of this world and the next resounded in his ears. But through it all the only clarity offered was the heavenly sound of her voice. “Let us hunt among the stars,” he echoed, softly, not even sure the words were spoken aloud. And he released that last tiny shred of strength that he had always embodied. A freedom which he had never known whisked him from his body, and their souls were allowed to ascend together. And never would they be apart again.  |

The Bells Dyrim - The Speaker: Lead diplomat and is often times sent out to maintain good relations with allied packs. Charged with educating the Ambassadors in diplomatic ways. Astarael - The Weeper: The commander and lead warrior of the pack. Charged with teaching the Berserkers the art of battle. Clayr - The Seer: Charged with the pack's health, and in teaching the Shiners and those who wish to pursue the art of healing. Kibeth - The Walker: The leader of the Guard. They are the foremost line of defense, charged with securing the borders and bringing pertinent information from within and without the pack to the appropriate wolf. They also lead the Outriders. Ranna - The Sleeper: Assists the queen in guarding from theft as well as advising her of news and gossip from the whole of Moladion. Charged with teaching the Mages about theft, secret keeping, and overall sneakiness. Allowed to make and block steals. Mosrael - The Waker: Caretaker and storyteller of the pack, also the head pupsitter. Often times this wolf will look after the pack's youth and educate them of Spirane and Moladion's history. Leads the Remembrancers in pup watching. Charter - The Power: The master hunter of the pack. Leads and organizes all hunts and teaches the Falconers the art of the hunt. The Classes Berserkers: Warriors and hunters of the pack. Falconers: The pack hunters Mages: Thieves and secret keepers of the pack. Allowed to make and block steals. Ambassadors: Diplomats of the pack. Shiners: Healers of the pack. Outriders: The pack scouts who bring all news of happenings across Moladion back. Remembrancers: Wolves of a kind nature who look after the younger wolves of the pack. These wolves may wish to learn more about healing, but this is not a requirement. Bairns: The young pups of the pack Amateurs: Youth of the pack still finding their place Kinfolk: The general populance of the pack Elders: Respected retirees who still offer wisdom and insight |
