Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

A welcome breeze brought the scent of others to his attention, but he did not overreact as some would. Sure, he didn't have much experience in dealing with strangers, but he wasn't a complete idiot. He had is father to thank for those "street smarts." He lifted his head just slightly as the male spoke up, inquiring about Sebastian's status as a newcomer to these lands. They were nearly the same tawny coloring, but the wolf in front of him was much larger than he would ever grow to be. He knew size wasn't everything, but it didn't hurt.

He was thinking how to answer the question when the female made her presence known. She, too, was larger than Sebastian but not by much. Maybe this was an ambush of some kind; perhaps he'd stepped into the wrong territory. Their body language didn't read as hostile, but there were tricksters in this species. Raising his head above his shoulder level, the alpha-bred male finally spoke up, olive eyes moving from one wolf to the other, "That depends on who is asking." He was careful not to give away too much information at first. He wanted to be cautious but not seem fearful. "My name is Sebastian," he added, dipping his head in a slight yet respectful manner at both canids. If his parents had taught him anything, it was to be respectful and gracious.

Memories of his training as a young pup filled his mind as he waited for the others to respond. His mother would try her best to get his and his sisters' attentions, but she was just too kind and soft-spoken. It would always be a deep growl from their father that got them to settle themselves and listen to the lesson that day. They were trained in the duties of the alpha family and what it meant to not just lead a pack but to be part of one. They were who the rest of the wolves looked to in times of trouble, and it would be up to them to keep order and prosperity. Sebastian had been so difficult to work with as he grew older, and he had only been interested in other females when his father insisted he go out hunting with him. Now, though, he would give anything to just be out in the night with his father one last time.
