At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Edelweiss flopped down on the sun-warmed grass that surrounded the lake, a contented sigh escaping her maw. Her amber eyes blinked slowly, taking in the expanse of water and the shored scattered with other wolves. The weather seemed too good to be true -unnaturally calm - but she couldn't find it in herself to care. Some things are simply too nice to question. She yawned, revealing ivory teeth as a gentle breeze ruffled her thick tawny pelt.

Content in the warm sunlight, she settled her head on her paws, idly watching the ripples on the lake surface. It was nice here, at the lake, though she wished she wasn't alone. Since she'd wandered into Blossom Forest, she'd felt isolated. She was a social creature and the life of a loner sat uneasily with her, an itch she could not scratch. She could hardly remember the last time she'd talked to someone in a friendly context, which itself was rather unsettling. Nonetheless, her eyes began to droop shut as she relaxed in the sun. Yet, she couldn't help but wonder when she'd last had a friendly conversation. It niggled at her. Thinking about it, it would have been the last time that-

Blood. Pain. Oh god, what was happening? Help me. Mother? Mother where are you? Holly? Ash? I'm scared. Guys, help me. Somebody help me. Please-

Edelweiss gasped, shooting up to stand, shaking. Her breath came in heaving gulps as fragments of memory surfaced violently. She shut her eyes tight, as though she could hide from her own thoughts if only she tried hard enough.

A minute passed. Then another. Inch by inch, the tension eased out of her, leaving the teen trembling minutely. Slowly, she sat down. She hated remembering, hated how little she could actually recall. All she had was shattered fragments that brought nothing but pain.

Shaking her head, she stared searchingly at the lake, forcing her mind to go blank. There was little point trying to remember, if all it did was hurt her. Whatever had happened, it was long ago and no longer of any importance to her life. She needed to move on.
