His father had been missing in action as of late, but even though Ruvindra fretted along with Istas, Vainglory knew that there must be a good reason for his abscense, and in truth he believed that perhaps the old man had finally offed himself. In the three years of his life he had watched his father with his own haunting gaze, he noticed little quirks that the older male had possessed and indeed he thought that Paldor was indeed possessed by some unseen force that was slowing driving not only him but the rest of his family slowly insane. Vain hadn't been that great with sticking around either really so he shouldn't be one to think such thoughts about his sire.

He was lucky to have gotten some time with Paldor when he had returned, the father son duo had met up deep within the swamps as the aligators snapped and the bugs got tangled within their fur for getting to close. They had sat there and stared at the water for some time before either of them had spoken, "It is not unusual for this to pass on" his father had said in a hushed voice, "but it is unusual for you to not dream... ya know, like me..." you see, for years and years, possibly centuries and millenia, the wolves of Vainglory's past have dreamed or read the bits and pieces and decifered what life was to be like for the future.

With Vainglory, he didn't dream, not so much as his father. The odd one here and there, he'd seen his father on the precipice of that waterfall. Had seen a tussel of white on white, no doubt his mother pulling the old fool from the edge and saving his life. But since that point, it only worked when he touched someone. "You say all you have to do is touch them?" he'd nodded then, "and you seem to fade?" "it's not so much a fade, more so a black out. Complete and utter black out" "hum, yes... I remember now, your great-great-grandmother had that..." there had been more to the conversation, but that is really none of your business as far as Vainglory is concerned.

So it was time to test this theory of his. His head tilts back to the sky as the stars over head glimmer and sparkle under the thin veil of mist that floats around him in an eathereal way, if his father could rise to such a rank based upon his skills, then so to could Vain and rise he would. His song floats out upon the softest of breezes, calling out the alpha Andras and hoping that perhaps he would come. It was his choice. Vain doesn't hear the voices of the dead in his mind like his father, but their entire family has some sorta quirk about them that deals with the mind and thus, a small barely there whisp of feeling against his neck announces the arrival of someone special to him, since birth Vain had an invisible friend, a companion of sorts. Not real in the least, but the black swamp snake had always been there to comfort him when no one else had. A manefestation of his mind if you will.
