He was worried. He had heard his mother’s call challenge the alpha and he knew why. He couldn't blame his mother for her actions, if fact if he had been older and able he may have done it himself, but still the sight of previous alpha female's broken and bleeding body was still fresh in his mind; and now his mother was going to go up against the same one who had done that to Moonglow. He was sure his siblings don’t fully understand the full gravity of the situation, at least not the way he did. They hadn't seen what he had; and the thought that, that could be his mother twisted this stomach painfully. On impulse he almost followed his mother, but then his siblings came to mind. So he had stayed to make sure they wouldn't try to follow her, to keep them calm, and prepare in case something did happen to mother to get them to leave quickly. Even if it wasn't that bad and there mother just lost, he doubted they could stay on mountain they call home, if that was the case and Purge somehow remained leader by the time he was old enough; he'd try and reclaim their home for his brother, sister, and mother.

He now is sitting outside the den his back facing the direction of the battle area, the same one the probably still smelled of Moonglow's blood, and the one that his mother would, undoubtedly in his mind, be fighting to her fullest, the alpha as he did so. While it may have seemed cold, it was a sign that he absolutely trusted his mother to come back to him and his siblings. But no matter what happens, he'll never forget the tears shed the night of Moonglows’s and Alcide’s passing or any others for that matter.
