Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

I take my time with the slain cub, knowing I'm in a safe enough place to savor my lunch. I make punctures all over the cub's body, licking up every drop of blood. Once the blood's started to drain to the bottom of the carcass, I start the more laborious task of burrowing my way into the chest cavity, past the sternum until I can find the heart. Of course it's not beating anymore but there's still plenty of blood left in it. I grasp it gently in my mouth, more gentle than I was with the cub even. I slowly squeeze it, a groan dripping from my lips as the thick clotted blood slides down my throat. This is the best part of the whole animal.

Once I've savored every juicy bite of the heart, I go back for the nutrient rich intestines and organs. I pick at the meaty muscles cause that's not really my thing before I decide to call it quits. By this time, the buzzards are circling, some venturing close on foot, trying to scavenge right beneath my nose. Luckily for them, there's nothing worth protecting so I lick my lips and move away from the carcass, leaving them to feast.

An unfamiliar scent hits my nose and my ears flicker toward the source, my tail arching erect over my spine as my hackles rise in warning. Who dares to approach a newly satisfied vampire? I don't eat so much as to get bloated so I'm no less deadly than usual, just a little more rejuvenated if anything. The female steps into view and my ears flicker forward. She doesn't seem to be a threat. If anything, she smells like a fresh kill. Cougar? Did she get into my stash of newborns? My lip twitches.

Icy blues rove over her dark form, taking in the new blood smears matted in her coat. Someone's a little messy. My lip curls back in amusement, eyes gleaming. At her comment, I tilt my head, intrigue on my impassive features.

"I guess you've seen to that, hm? Got a knack for the taste of carinvore? Or is it just the feline types that get your motor revving?"

My tail flicks, my eyes sparkling with play.
