aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Yeah it’s delicious, thank you Aindreas. The white brute nodded before turning back to his meal, his incisors gently and carefully pulling at the flesh and meat, striping it off of the bone and cartilaginous skeleton. It was tender and soft, moist. A delicatessen. The meal was a short one, more of a snack than a meal. When he had stripped the fish completely naked, he turned and noted that Leila had not finished her own… perhaps it had not completely been to her liking. Raising his weight and sitting it upon his haunches, he allowed his tongue to escape and made short work of cleansing his paws before he allowed one sweep to clean his lips. His arctics slipped and moved to land upon the fae next to him, who had apparently flipped to lay upon her back, her maw opening to let loose words as it so often did. Okay so if we’re going to be friends. I mean, I’m assuming we’re going to be friends – maybe we’ll become mortal enemies… But I’m going to say we’re friends. Anyway, we should know some more about each other. I have no idea where to start… Okay, what’s your favorite season? I think mine is spring, it’s so beautiful when all the flowers begin to emerge and signs of life appear gain, don’t you think? Oh and when you wake up and the air is fresh and pure it’s so nice. Aindreas raised his eyebrows, looking about.

It was spring now, but what did he prefer? It was a thought that he had not imagined before. He remained silent and coughed once before opening his maw. “Perhaps winter. I blend in with the snow and it makes hunting down prey easier.” Forever and always he would be the practical one, not one ruled by emotions. Except when he had been in love with Genisys… that was perhaps the only time that he had made any decisions that were illogical. Such as telling her everything he felt, no matter the consequences…

Okay so you lived in Moondown Shadows, right? When you were a pup who looked after you then? If that’s not too personal… Aindreas’ auds flattened upon his cranium as he thought back to his childhood. When he was young. When he was weak. Still, it would have been rude not to answer. “I lived with Nika… she is my… ‘mother’…” He spoke her name with disgust and inhaled deeply, calming himself before continuing. “… I was part of a triplet litter. I have two siblings, Adara and Rohan. Nika decided that three pups was one too many and abandoned me. I was found and adopted by a femme named Casey who brought me to Munashii Gekko, not Moondown Shadows. That is when I met Kalgalath but I knew naught that he was my father. Soon after Casey was murdered in front of me and Kalgalath took it upon himself to raise me. But then he left, apparently to find Nika who left him without telling him she was pregnant. From there… well I stayed a bit in Munashii Gekko but then left and did as I wanted. When I got word of Kalgalath’s return to Blossom Forest, I returned to the only place I had ever considered home – that is when I became a part of Serris’ pack. But now I am a part of Moondown Shadows pack under a brute named Striker. My father thought that I should become a part of his pack, apparently him and Striker are friends. Is my answer sufficient, Miss Leila?

It was more than he had spoken in a long while… words were not his forte. Neither was opening up. And this fae somehow pulled words from him with ease. He looked at her and spared a smile before looking away. The sun had lowered itself closer to the horizon, the chill of night was already creeping in. There was not enough time to make it back to his home pack, not now, not before the night. And whilst he would have no trouble finding his way in the dark of the night, he did not want to go through the effort of seeking such a path. “Night is falling and we should not be so close to the water’s edge. Though it is spring it is still chilly at night. However, I do wish to continue this conversation. Is there another place we can go to talk? I am not intimate with the layout of Kalgalath’s domain.” Raising to his feet, the titan’s coat shook out, some soft silt falling from his snowy pelt.
